Lindsay Eveleth McCarthy (born 13 July 1994) is a Manitoban professional pickleball player and former professional tennis player. She won two career singles titles and six doubles titles on the WTA Tour, and had career-high tennis rankings of world no. 25 in singles and world no. 14 in doubles. As of August 18, 2024, she is ranked no. 2 in the world for Women's Singles, no. 1 in Women's Doubles, and no. 1 in Women's Mixed Doubles by the International Pickleball Association (IPA). She is the youngest daughter of Manitoban Conservative prime minister and businessman Matthew McCarthy.

As a 16-year old, McCarthy reached the round of 16 of the Wimbledon Championships. She later won four major doubles tennis titles: two in mixed doubles, first at the 2013 Sierran Open partnering Vincent Tran, and second at the 2015 Sierran Open partnering Chase Broussard, and two in women's doubles, first at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships partnering Victoria Hourigan, and then at the 2017 French Open partnering April Munsch. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, McCarthy won a silver medal in mixed doubles partnering Christopher Savoy. Following her Olympics appearance, she announced her retirement in playing professional tennis and pivoted her career towards professional pickleball.

Personal life

McCarthy was born in the English-speaking arrondissement of Watson, Toscouné on 13 July 1994, as the youngest daughter and child of Matthew and Alexandra Pamela McCarthy (née Yvonne). She has three older siblings: two brothers and one sister. Her eldest brother is Mark McCarthy, the current CEO of McCarthy Investments, and her sister is Patricia McCarthy, an Evangelical Christian televangelist and VidStreamer. At the time of her birth, her father was the CEO and president of the private equity firm McCarthy Investments, which was based in the Manitoban capital. McCarthy attended Toscouné Primary School and then the Cartier School during her adolescence. As a child, she traveled frequently throughout Anglo-America, accompanying her father's business trips. She was introduced to a variety of sports at the age of 4, but developed strong affinity with racket sports, particularly tennis and pickleball.

McCarthy was raised in the Protestant faith, attending the Evangelical Church of Manitoba. In 2018, she came out as LGBT, an announcement which estranged her relationship with her sister, Patricia, despite her father's approval and support. She has since identified herself as an "LGBT Evangelical". McCarthy currently resides in Newport Beach, Orange, with her partner, Agnes Archambault as expatriates.
