List of presidents of Azania
The President of Azania is the head of state and head of government of Azania, indirectly elected by all registered voters within the country, through the Electoral College. The officeholder leads the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the Azanian Armed Forces.
Since the office was established in 1865, 19 men and 4 women have served as president. The first, Alistair Barclay, was elected unanimously by the Electoral College. Henrietta Gallagher was the first female president of Azania, and the first non-hereditary female head of state at the time she entered office in 1902. There are currently three living former presidents. The most recent former president to die was Samuel Nelson, on January 18, 2020.
