The United Kingdom of Mestra and Kaerskov, commonly written as The Kingdom of Mestra or just Mestra (Nynorsk: Herre), is a country in Western Verdantis. It comprises of; Halland, Svendlev, Eskilde, and Kaerskov. Mestra includes the main land, aswell as many of the islands off the coast and down the Halland Peninsula, making up a total area of 1,031,011 square miles (2,670,307km2). Mestra shares it's largest border with Virlannia to it's east, a small border to the south with Helstorig, a large border to the north with Aletia, and a small border to the north east with Eisenach, with the rest of Mestra being surrounded by the Crostenian Ocean. Mestra has an estimated population of 54.1 million people in 2023. The capital of Mestra and Halland is Østerhus, however Viken, the largest city in the country, whose wider metropolitan area is the largest in Western Verdantis, with 19.2 million. The cities of Storhus, Tromsøra, and Karlsdal are the capitals of Svendlev, Eskilde, and Kaerskov respectively.

Mestra became the first industrialized country and was the worlds largest power for most of the 19th and 20th century, mostly during the "Keiserlige Århundre" between 1819 and 1919. At the height, the Kingdom encompassed close to two thirds of the worlds landmass and population, and was one of the largest empires in history. During the Grand Recession and later The Talmerian War and the Great War greatly damaged Mestra's economic power, along with a large wave of decolonization led to the majority of Mestra's colonies becoming independent.
Mestra is a constitutional monarchy with a unitary parliamentary. Mestra has 4 major jurisdictions; Halland, Svendlev, Eskilde, and Kaerskov, and since 1991 the last three have their own governments and parliaments which control various in-house matters. As a developed country, Mestra has the world's eleventh largest economy by nominal gross domestic product (GDP). It is also a nuclear state, ranked [X] in global military spending. It is currently a member of The League of Common Nations (Ligaen av Felles Nasjoner), WMO, OFSN, [X], [X] and [X]. Mestran influence can be observed in many countries, mostly ones that were former colonies or similar, with most commonalties being in legal and political systems, along with culture.
The nicknamed 'Southern Vanguard of the OFSN' by modern observers, the Kingdom of Mestra is one of the most powerful nations in the Southern Hemisphere of Seterra, rivaled by Virlannia. Their government is a Parliamentary Monarchy, currently helmed by King Fredrik II, and Prime Minister Joakim Brevik. Mestra's population is predominantly Mestran, however there is a minority of Virlannians in the long-contested Kaerskov Gap, in north-eastern Mestra. The population is fairly evenly spread, with the capital city, Østerhus along the coast. The Mestran economy is very industrialized, being the most industrial in the southern hemisphere. Despite the lower temperatures, Mestran citizens are some of the happiest in the world-- rivaling countries such as Kirkassag and Helstorig.
