Throat of the World

The Throat of the World (Nordic: Verdenhals), also known as the Monahven (from Draconic M (TES).svgO (TES).svgN (TES).svgAh (TES).svgV (TES).svgE (TES).svgN (TES).svg, lit. "Mother-Wind")[1], is the highest mountain in Tamriel. It is located in south-central Skyrim, in the Hrothgar Mountains. Close to its summit is High Hrothgar, the ancient monastery of the Greybeards.

Names

The peak has also been called Snow-Throat (Nordic: Snærhals), or Snow-Tower (Nordic: Snærturn), or Throat Mountain (Nordic: Halsfjall; Cyrodilic: Jugulus Mons), mainly in ancient Nordic poems and prophecies.
