The National Action Party (Spanish: Partido Acción Nacional), colloquially known as the Naps is a center-left political party in Patagonia. The party was formed in 1969 after the Liberals merged with the Country Party due to the decreasing seats of the Liberals in the Parliament. The current leader of the party is the current prime minister Allison Whitley.
History
Liberal Party
The Liberal Party had elected five prime ministers in Patagonian history. From 1873 to 1969, the Whigs formed a government six times—from 1878 to 1883, from 1885 to 1897, from 1897 to 1902, from 1906 to 1909, from 1919 to 1925, and from 1952 to 1956.
The party had created a coalition with the Conservatives during the opposition of Heath's premiership. The first victory of the forest coalition was in 1930 after Robert Baldwin won the election.
