Ideology and political stance

New Wind is broadly considered to be a far-right and national-conservative movement in both socioeconomic and sociocultural terms, although the party strongly denies these claims. Fuyukichi Konoe claims on his 1945 founding manifest, For a New Wind in Japan, that New Wind is a "national movement for the salvation of the Japanese nation with the Emperor at its lead." It is also stated that the movement embrace traditional values, patriotism, strongly rejects communism as an "apatrid ideology", and upholds the hakkō ichiu doctrine.

Republicanism

A monarchist party, New Wind strongly opposes democratization of Japan as well as republicanism. Konoe describes in various writings republicanism as "a perverted ideology, brought to Japan to destroy its unity".

LGBT rights and feminism

Arguing that marriage can only be between one man and one woman, New Wind opposes the legalisation of same-sex marriage, calling it counternatural.
