SBC News (July 1, 2021) – Protests and other demonstrations have broken out across the Commonwealth of Uppasala and other states by supporters of Daniel Meijer and the United Conservative Party over the results of the recent gubernatorial election and an investigation carried out into claims of voter fraud and ballot harvesting. Incumbent Liberal Democratic governor Larry Parker was re-elected by a razor-thin margin in a highly contested election over Meijer and was declared the winner on March 10, however Meijer refused to concede and made claims of voter fraud and irregularities waging a legal campaign seeking to overturn the results of the election. This caused Roger Ferguson, the Liberal Democratic Attorney General, to launch an investigation inspite of opposition from his own party which ended on June 30 with Parker's victory being reaffirmed.

Meijer and his legal team are yet to formally respond, however his supporters have reacted with outrage with the first protest occuring hours after the conference in New Michigan where thousands of Meijer supporters gathered outside of the Uppasala Commonwealth Building, the meeting place of the state legislature, demanding that Meijer be instated as governor and for the removal of both Parker and Ferguson from office. Other protests have occured as well such as in the western counties where Meijer won overwhelmingly during the recent gubernatorial election and in other states. Most of the other protests have occurred in politically conservative states such as Arrowhead and Augustana, however many have called for demonstrations across all states in Superior.

Donald Hartford, Shadow Treasury Secretary and MP from Arrowhead, recently posted to his Bubbler account a call for more protests, gave his support to the demonstrators and reiterated claims of voter fraud and irregularities in support of Meijer, the latter of which has been rebubbling posts from United Conservative officials who have been supporting the protests. Hartford himself posted on July 1;

Not only must we #FreeUppasala, we must also gather in all states. Patriots must protest in every state and in every city to showcase their anger towards this blatant example of corruption and electroal theft! #RiseSuperior

Ferguson has condemned the protests as "utter insanity" and has restated his refusal to launch another investigation stating that it would be "a massive waste of time" and warned that any violent demonstrations would lead to legal reprucustions. He posted the findings from the investigation to his social media accounts and to the state justice department's website to make the evidence public.
