Pathompong Malakham (Thai: ปฐมพงศ์ มาลาคำ; RTGS: Potmopnga Malakham; 6 June 1995 – 9 April 2021), better known by his stage name Nikkimaru-P (Japanese: 日記丸P, "Diary Circle"), was a Thai Neovoix musician and singer-songwriter based in the Kingdom of Sierra. Nikkimaru-P began his music career in 2009, initially releasing music on his VidStream channel under the alias pamama (パママ), before he created a second channel under his more well known alias Nikkimaru-P, as well as his kaomoji: "( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ". Nikkimaru-P was considered a pioneer in the Neovoix music community, and was also known for producing other music, especially British acid techno-influenced tracks. He rose to prominence following the release of the single "Just a Girl" in 2013.
On 9 April 2021, Nikkimaru-P died by suicide while on quarantine from a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, hours after releasing his fourth and final album Vortex on VidStream.
Biography
Nikkimaru-P was born in Pattaya, Thailand. He and his family emigrated to Grands Ballons when he was 6 after his father received a company-sponsored visa from U, Inc. at their Southwest Corridor regional headquarters. He and his family eventually naturalized as K.S. citizens, although they retained their Thai citizenship as dual citizens. Nikkimaru-P learned to play the guitar and piano by the sixth grade. He began producing music on Tabeen before he joined VidStream in 2009 and created his first channel there under the alias "pamama". He self-taught himself to use the Sontune proprietary voice synthesizer software Neovoix. He became well known within the Neovoix community following the release of the song "Bell Peppers" in 2011, which went viral. In 2013, he joined a collective of digital artists to form Digital Basement, an independent music label, and created a second channel called Nikkimaru-P. By 2015, he produced music exclusively as Nikkimaru-P. In addition to producing his own music, he helped produce music for other artists. Notably, he provided samples for major recording artists including Q-Lo, Blaxkface Killer, and Meo Meo.
