Officially the Federal Republic of Nordestsülen (Bundesrepublik Nordestsülen), Nordestsülen is a Chancellery Republic, under Chancellor Viktor Hoffmann, of the Party of Labour and Virtue. Nordestsülen has held independence since 1803, being a federation of states under a republic for well over 200-years.
Home to 66.3 million citizens, Nordestsülen has a booming tourism industry and a growing electronics base, recent discoveries of lithium deposits have made it an ideal supplier on the global market. Nordestsülen ranks as the second power of the region behind Baselia.
Nordestsülen was established in the mid 16th century by settlers from Vohylt-Tvahorner. Initially a collection of coastal settler colonies, they began expanding inland, cooperating with local tribal councils and sending missionary expeditions to gain favour and convert the native population, eventually consolidating in the Colony of Nordestsülen being formed.
Following the annexation of Vohylt-Tvahorner by Reussland, the Nordestsülen Governor appealed to Amïhan for Koethic protection, temporarily becoming a protectorate of Köthen until the 1930s when VT and Köthen negotiated for the full independence of the republic.
