Nouseria ( /nu.swɛr.i:a/; Nousuerian: Nusvere) is an island country consisting of an archipelago of small islands between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Norway and Iceland, 320 kilometres (200 miles) north-northwest of Great Britain. The area is approximately 1,400 square kilometres (541 square miles) with a 2015 population of 48,700.
Nousueria's archipelago is very rugged. It also has en extremely moderated subpolar oceanic climate. This means that it is windy, wet, cloudy and cool year round. Despite its northerly latitude, Nousueria's temperatures average above freezing year round.
Nousueria as part of the Kingdom of Norway from 1035 until 1814. The Treaty of Kiel granted autonomy to the Nousuerian people and the islands that they inhabited. In 1905 the dissolution of the Kingdom of Norway & Sweden, of which Nousueria was a part, meant total independence of the Nousuerian Islands. It was at this time that the first Royal House of Nousueria was established. Nousueria has representation in the Nordic Council and they also compete as an independent country in certain sports.
Etymology
The etymology of the word Nousueria signifies the ancestry and history of the people, culture and language.
In the Nousuerian language, the word for Nousueria is Nusvere. This is a combined variation of two words of two different origins.
"Nu-" comes from the French first person plural possessive pronoun, nous. "-svere" comes from the Swedish word for the Sweden, Sverige.
