The Persian Empire (Persian: امپراطوری بزرگکشور شاهنشاهی ایران) is a sovereign nation located in western and southern Asia. It is bordered by Turkey, North Africa, and Arabia to the west; Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and the Caspian Sea to the the north; China, Punjab, and Pakistan to the east; and the Persian Gulf to the south.
Demographics
According to the 2015 census conducted by the Persian Civilian Services, there were a total of 154,116,495 people living in the borders of the Persian Empire. Of the over 154 million people, 94% were citizens of the country.
Persians
Ethnic Persians make up a majority of the population of the Persian Empire, making up 61% of the total population of Persia. They are widespread across the country, living in all 15 administrative divisions within the country. 85% of ethnic Persians speak Standard Imperial Persian, the officially recognized standard of the Persian language, as a first language. A notable minority of ethnic Persians, primarily living in the Afghan and West Punjab provinces, speak Dari Persian as a first language. According to the 2015 census, 45% of ethnic Persians identify as Zoroastrian, 32% identify as Muslim, 13% as Buddhist, and 10% are irreligious or other.
Kurds and Afghans
The census groups Kurds and Afghans together as an ethnic group. 19% of the population identifies with the grouping of ethnicities. Kurdish languages and Dari Persian are spoken as first languages by a majority of the Kurdish and Afghan populations, respectively. 90% of Kurds and 32% of Afghans identify as Muslims, while a 54% of Afghans identify as Buddhist. Manichaeism and Zoroastrianism are also practiced by a portion of the population of both ethnicities.
Tajiks
Ethnic Tajiks make up 10% of the total population of Persia. Tajiki is the first language of 52% of ethnic Tajiks. A majority of Tajiks are Muslims. Tajiks make up a majority of the Tojiki and South Tojiki provinces.
Russians and Belarusians
Russians and Belarusians constitute around 6% of total population of the Persian Empire. They form the largest non-Asian population in country. A majority of Russians and Belarusians in the country speak Russian as a first language, with around 7% speaking Belarusian regularly.
Currency
The official currency of the Persian Empire is the Imperial rial. The three autonomous republics have their own currencies that are used and circulated alongside the rial. The Armenian Autonomous Republic, Syriac Autonomous Republic, and the West Punjab Autonomous Republic use the dram, Pound, and rupee alongside the rial, respectively.
Imperial Rial
The Imperial Rial is the official currency of the Persian Empire. It is officially printed and minted by the Persian Imperial Mint. Rials are further subdivided into tomans, are valued at 100 tomans for every rial.
Armenian Dram
The Armenian Dram is the official currency of the Armenian Autonomous Republic alongside the Imperial Rial. The dram is pegged to the Imperial rial at a 1:10 value ratio.
Syriac Pound
The Syriac Pound is the official currency of the Syriac Autonomous Republic alongside the Imperial Rial. It is pegged to the Imperial rial at a 1:15 value ratio.
West Punjabi Rupee
The West Punjabi Rupee is the official currency of the West Punjab Autonomous Republic alongside the Imperial Rial. It is the most valuable of the three autonomous currencies. It is pegged to the rial at a 1:5 value ratio.
Administrative Divisions
The Persian Empire is divided into six provinces, six states and three autonomous republics. Each of the 16 administrative divisions is further subdivided into counties and further into districts. Each province and the sole prefecture are governed by an elected governor, while the three republics are governed by an elected president.

Under the Imperial Constitution of Persia, all 15 administrative divisions are permitted to fly their own provincial, state, and republic flags. All flags were selected from government-sponsored events in which citizens submitted flag designs for each subnational entity of Persia.
