The Porciúncula Times (alternatively known as the Los Angeles Times or LA Times from the city's historic name) is a daily newspaper in the Kingdom of Sierra that was started in Porciúncula in 1881 and is now based in the city of El Segundo, the Gold Coast. It is the fourth-largest circulated newspaper in the Kingdom of Sierra and is one of the largest newspapers in all of Anglo-America along with The Bunker Hill Journal. The Porciúncula Times covers events relevant to the Southwest Corridor and other areas of Southern Sierra, but also covers national-level news and current events effecting both the rest of Sierra and international events as well. The paper has covered topics such as immigration, climate change and natural disasters among others. It has won over 40 Sutter Prizes for its coverage of these topics and others. As of June 18, 2018, the Porciúncula Times is owned by Stanely Soon-Shiang. It is considered to be the newspaper of record in the Kingdom of Sierra.
During the 19th century, the paper was known for its promotion of boosterism and promoting opposition to labor unions, leading to a bombing of their headquarters in 1910. The paper's profile grew in the 1950s and 60s under Michael Chandler, who expanded the paper to cover national level issues and topics. The paper has suffered decline in its readership and other internal issues as well such as staff reductions, changes in ownership and different controversies. Nonetheless, it remains one of Sierra's biggest newspapers. In January 2018, the paper's staff voted to unionize for the first time and finalized their first union contract on October 16, 2019, ending the paper's history of anti-union sentiment and policies. In July 2018, the paper moved out of its historic downtown headquarters to a facility in El Segundo, Gold Coast near the Porciúncula International Airport.
