Modes

Bus

For more information, see bus transport in Rockall.

Bus services are provided on a per-barony basis and are regulated by baronial organisations. This is not the case for An Uinnia and the Rockallic Federal District, where bus transport is regulated on the viscountcial level.

The general approach for local bus networks is bus public transport is localised within a baronetcy, and that these localised baronetcial networks are interconnected by inter-baronetcy bus lines. Oftentimes bus lines centralise on a public transport node or a railway station where connections to the BLS Lines or train lines are provided.

Most villages have at least one bus stop and are called at at least once every two hours. Bus lines form connections between villages and towns, towns and baronial capitals, baronial capitals and viscountcial capitals, and between viscountcial capitals. If a place has a train station, regional bus lines will usually also call there.

Bus rapid transit

For more information, see BLS Lines.

Bus rapid transit services, known as BLS Lines are an important part of Rockallic nationwide public transport, with an extensive network covering nearly 6,000 kilometres. They cover the entire island and provide intercity connections for places that do not have direct access to rail transport.

BLS Line buses travel between so-called public transport nodes, which are bus stations where local bus lines centralise to provide connections to and from the BLS Lines. If a BLS Line passes a railway station then it will also call there, although in some cases it may be under restrictions, i.e. it may not be allowed to board or alight at the railway station. No such restrictions exist at public transport nodes.
