Ioanna of Greco-Turkey (born 1966) is the current Queen of Greco-Turkey. She is 24th in line to the throne of Europa.
Life
Early life
Ioanna was born in Athens (then Greece), the eldest daughter of King Constantine of Greco-Turkey and the third child of Princess Antonia of Europa. He paternal grandfather was King of Greece. Her maternal Grandfather was King Umberto II of Europa and her maternal grandmother was Queen Elena of Europa, the heir to the Romanian throne. After the republican coup in 1986 she and her family moved to Europa to live with her mother's family in Diocletian's Palace. She studied in Trieste at the National University.
Marriage
She married Daniel Adrian Efendi (a descendant of Ottoman Sultan Mehmed V) and had three children: Prince Paul of Greco-Turkey (1991), Princess Katerina of Greco-Turkey (1994), Prince Michael of Greco-Turkey (1996). In 1999 the democratic government allowed her and her family (but not her father) to return to Athens. By then there was lots of support for the monarchy's restoration.
Reign
With the upcoming reinstatement of the monarchy, Ioanna and her husband vere voted by a majority to become the ruling monarchs. They were proclaimed king and queen on July 16, 2011. The former presidential palace (which used to be the ROyal palace until 1986) was made the home of the Royal family.
