The Republic of Occitania was an Anarcho-Syndical Republic, member of the First International Socialist Alliance. The republic was founded after the Occitan Revolution of 1948, in which the Occitan rebels led by the socialist Vincent Auriol, member of the Syndicalist party, with the help of the CNT-FAI, managed to overthrow the fascist government led by François Darlan.
