The 12. Mekanisertbrigade is a formation of the Kongelige Hæren. It was formed in 1953 and reorganized in 2003 after the military reform. It is headquartered in Keflavik and attached to the 4. Infanteridivisjon.
History
The Dalabrigade was set up in the years 1953-1955, by reorganizing the Field Regiment (War Federation) The Dal Regiment (IR 13) by the Defense Decree 1953 into infantry brigade.
The Dalabrigade was originally an infantry brigade , but in 1986 it was reorganized into a Mekanisertbrigade. In 2003, after the military reform, the Brigade was upgraded with new units and attached to the 4. Infanteridivisjon.

- 22th Motorized Infantry Battalion, operates in the light infantry role and is equipped with vehicles from the Sisu XA and general purpose vehicles families
- 23th Motorized Infantry Battalion, operates in the light infantry role and is equipped with vehicles from the SEP-W and general purpose vehicles families

- 24th Logistic Support Battalion
- 20th Artillery Battalion, operates in the field artillery role and is equipped with ARCHER self-propelled 155 mm howitzer and Anti Air weapons
