  • A TFF medical group recovers around over four dozen bodies of fallen fighters from both sides following a series of clashes in Central Tournesol.
• Boko Haram insurgency
  • Boko Haram militants kill at least 30 people by burning them while they were sleeping in their vehicles in north-eastern Nigeria. Boko Haram also kidnapped several women and children.

Business and economy

• Individual action on climate change
  • Dozens of climate activists surround the officers of Northeastern investment management company BlackRock in central Paris and vandalize it, calling for the company to divest from the fossil fuel industry.
• Brexit
  • The United Kingdom and Conference of American States negotiate the possibility of allowing oil companies from both countries to invest in and drill of the shores of both parties.

• 2019–20 China coronavirus outbreak
  • Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organization, warns that overseas cases of the coronavirus may be the "tip of the iceberg".
  • Manchuria suspends visas from China in response to the virus for at least 40 days to prevent outbreaks in the country.
