Armed conflicts and attacks
- Kashmir conflict
- Two Kashmiri citizens that were allegedly militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba are killed by Indian Forces at Anantang, Jammu and Kashmir in a counter-terrorism operation.
- Five terrorists are killed in Peshwar, Khyber Paktunkhwa, Pakistan, by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in a heavy exchange of gunfire during a search operation.
Health and environment
- 2019–20 China coronavirus outbreak
- Italy confirms that a 78-year-old man in Padua, Veneto, and a woman in her 70s in Codogno, Lombardy, have died after contracting the virus. These are the first two virus-related deaths in Italy.
- Another 35 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Italy, bringing the total number of cases up to 56.
- Korea confirms that another 229 more people have been infected with the virus, bringing the total number of causes to 433.
- Another 34 cases are reported in Sierra with Sierran and Astorian authorities expecting more cases to come.
- The first coronavirus case in confirmed in Iraq.
- Samoa bans all cruise ships from entering the country amid growing fears about the virus.
- France shuts down its first nuclear power reactor, at the Fessenheim Nuclear Power Plant.
Law and crime
- Lesotho PM Tom Thabane is granted sick leave until February 27 when he is due to appear in court for the murder of his wife.
Politics and elections
- 2020 Dominican Republic municipal elections
- The Government of the Dominican Republic requests the Conference of American States to investigate the elections from February 16.
- 2020 Togolese presidential election
- Voters in Togo head to the polls to vote for the country's president. Incumbent President Gnassingbé Abass, accused of authoritarian rule, seeks to be re-elected for a fourth term.
- Tournesol–United Commonwealth relations
- Secretariat of the United Commonwealth departs on a 1981 Winnebago from Rock Island to tour the prefectures which border Superior in an effort to show the normalization of relations. The Secretariat's tour will end in Kansas City where he will cross the border into Tournesol. The Secretariat is set to meet with Jeanne-Lucille Desmarais at a visitor center at the border crossing to sign a new economic program which will promote some 2,000 Continental nurses to relocate to the United Commonwealth's closet ally.
