  • Persian Gulf Crisis
    • Hundreds of Iraqi protestors storm the Green Zone in Baghdad in response to the airstrike on Iraqi forces, occupying the embassies of several Anglo-American countries, most notably the Kingdom of Sierra embassy. The embassies of Brazoria and the United Commonwealth are also targeted.
    • The Iraqi government orders the deployment of riot police around the embassies, but they do not stop the protestors from breaking in.
    • Sierran Prime Minister Nemesis Heartwell accuses Iranian-backed militias of organising the embassy protest and states that defensive measures will be taken, including the deployment of 3,000 CAS troops to Iraq.
    • French President Jean-Luc Cheminade and German Chancellor Friedrich Zorn declare the European Union is willing to mediate a diplomatic solution to the tensions between Iran and the Anglo-American countries.
  • Somali Civil War
Disasters and accidents
  • A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter carrying 13 people crashes in New Taipei, Hainan and Taiwan. Eight people are killed, including the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of China Armed Forces, General Shen Yi-ming.
Law and crime
  • Lebanese justice minister says he has received an arrest warrant from Interpol against former Chairman of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, who escaped house arrest in Japan and fled to Lebanon days ago.
Politics and elections
  • Italy's ruling Five Star Movement expels Senator Gianluigi Paragone from its ranks over disciplinary issues, shrinking the coalition's majority in the Senate to five.
