- Hainan and Taiwan decriminalizes infidelity in a reportedly landmark ruling. Prior to the ruling, adultery was punishable by one year in prison.

- LGBT rights in British Hong Kong
- Jimmy Sham, LGBT rights activist and spokesperson for the Democratic Labour Party, sends a petition to the Regional Court to recognize same-sex marriage in the British colony arguing that the court's refusal to recognize same-sex marriage is in violation of Basic Law.

- A Space X spaceship prototype (SN4) is destroyed in a large explosion during a static fire test at the SpaceX South Brazoria Launch Sight.
