- Palestine begins human trials on its possible vaccine. In the first trial, 80 people will take part and another 960 will partake in December in the second trial. If both trials go well, the third stage of trials will have 30,000 volunteers in April or May. If all trials are successful, than the vaccine will be ready for the general public by the end of summer in 2021.

- Prime Minister Oscar de Saint-Just announces in a televised interview on TF1 that the government will introduce a ban on all "non-essential" items in supermarkets starting on November 3 as part of new lockdown measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.

- Starting tomorrow, Geneva will impose a city-wide lockdown which will last until November 29 after more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases were reported in the city in the past several days. According to the new rules, bars, restraurants and other non-essential shops will be closed by 7:00 pm local time and in addition, cinemas, museums, concert halls, gyms, swimming pools and ice rinks will all be closed. However, schools will remain open despite the lockdown.
