- The Dutch government announces that it will permit the attendance of around 3,500 fans into the Rotterdam Ahoy for the May 18-22 Eurovision Song Contest, as part of a trial of reopening public venues.

- New Zealand raises its minimum wage up to $20 an hour, raising the income of 175,500 citizens by $44 per week, while the tax on those earning $180,000 rises to 39%. Welfare spending, student allowances, and support for first-time home buyers increase as well.

- Bangladesh reports a record 6,469 new cases in the last 24 hours, prompting the government to impose new measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 nationwide. Such measures include a ban on travellers from the European Community and 12 other countries for two weeks starting on April 3.

- Phnom Penh imposes a curfew 8:00 pm to 5:pm local time which suspends all non-essential business activities and public gatherings for two weeks to curb the spread of COVID-19.
