The Cornish War
The Cornish War (Irish: Cogadh na gCornach) was an armed conflict between The Federal Republic of Dumnonia and The Celtic People's Republic of Ireland (CPR Ireland) over Cornwall, A Region and Federal State of Dumnonia which was well know for being a “Celtic Nation” along side Ireland, Isle Of Man, Wales, Scotland and Britanny.
Pre-Conflict
After the 76’ Revolution, The Then-Neutral Irish Government was exiled and Pan-Celtic, Marxist Politican, Ian Aodhagán established The Celtic People’s Republic of Ireland as a “Socialist and Celtic Utopia” Ian was inspired by Yugoslav Leader, Josip Broz Tito and wanted to create a Pan-Celtic Socialist Federal Republic (ala Yugoslavia). CPR Ireland begin making good relations with other socialist/communist nations and despite not being recognised by some countries as the legitimate Irish government (United Kingdom, Canada, West Germany, South Africa, Dumnonia) it managed to replace ROI in the UN. Circa 1979, The CPR Government began plans to invade both The UK and Dumnonia to get Scotland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Cornwall, However many of its fellow socialist allies warned that an UK invasion would provoke The United States and it’s NATO allies into an invasion on Ireland. Plans to invade the UK were scraped (but would be brought back in 1985) so they focus on Dumnonia.
After the Allied win of WW2, Dumnonia was occupied and talks of reintegration into the UK were happening before a provisional government based in Exeter was established which would later become The Federal Government of Dumnonia. Due to fears of remilitarising, The Allies limited Dumnonia’s Military Power and the country would have to be dependent on the UK in case of an attack but due to strained relations between Dumnonia and The UK, there wasn’t a defence pact of sorts signed.
