“From the ashes of Earth, we rose. From the stars, we conquer. Humanity will never kneel again.”
— Official motto of the United Federation of Terra
The United Federation of Terra (UFT) is currently the dominant interstellar power of humanity while spanning thousands of star systems and ruling with an iron hand forged from war and vengeance. Established after humanity's invasion by the alien threate, which is the Greater Tykronikan Empire in 2011, the UFT represents humanity's unyielding determination to not only survive but dominate the galaxy. Combining advanced Aetheric magi-tech (Aetherforge), reverse-engineered from Tykronikan artifacts, with unrelenting militarization, and created a hyper-centralized authoritarian federation. Its governance is rooted by military doctrine and technocratic efficiency, making sure that every citizen serves the ultimate goal: expanding humanity’s supremacy and avenging its past. Fueled by a doctrine of human supremacy and a relentless thirst for revenge, the UFT is at constant war, whether it is reclaiming lost pride against the Tykronikans, defending its territories from alien threats, or conquering new worlds. Each battle is not just a fight for survival but it's also a reminder to all species that humanity is no longer a victim and has risen by reshaping itself by its military-industrial machine, overseen by the Terran High Council and powered by the unshakable faith of its people in humanity's manifest destiny.
History
In the year 2011, Earth faced an invasion that no one could have predicted. The Tykronikans, which is an advanced and ruthless empire of warrior-like beings, descended from the stars with one singular purpose: to conquer. Earth, rich in resources, and it was nothing but another jewel in their expanding empire. Whether it was for colonization, testing their might, or simply to fuel their thirst for power was up for debate but they were determined to subjugate humanity. But the Tykronikans underestimated Earth. The planet, divided by borders, ideologies, and endless conflicts, found unity in the face of annihilation. Every government, every resistance, every rebel group put aside their petty conflicts and came together to form the first unified Earth Defense Coalition. While the Tykronikans were advanced in their weaponry, they never anticipated humanity’s resilience or ingenuity. In desperation, Earth’s scientists reverse-engineered the Tykronikans’ most powerful asset: their Aetherforge technology, a complex and arcane system that fused magic with technology (Technomancy basically), allowed the Tykronikans to manipulate energy, bend reality, and build weapons capable of ravaging entire planets. But for all its power, it was still unfamiliar to the invaders—ancient, alien tech that had its own set of rules, weaknesses, and flaws. Humanity's greatest minds used this tech as their own advantage, synthesizing it with human ingenuity. It took years, but by 2017, humanity had begun to replicate the Aetherforge’s miracles, a powerful weapon called the "Aether Storm" was developed. It was unstable yet a devastating energy weapon that tore through the invaders' defenses. The final blow was delivered during the Battle of Sol, where Earth's united forces broke the Tykronikan’s hold, forcing them into retreat. Humiliated, their fleet shattered and their best soldiers dead, the Tykronikans withdrew, leaving behind their technology, machines, and the Aetherforge secrets. But this wasn't a simple victory. Humanity had tasted the power of the Aetherforge, and it changed them. Throughout the span of 400 years, Earth became the United Federation of Terra (UFT) and uses Tykronikan tech which allowed them to ascend from a war-torn world into a mighty interstellar power. But no matter how far they reached, the memory of the Tykronikan invasion, the destruction, and the humiliation remained. Revenge was no longer a dream—it was an obsession, passed down from generation to generation. The Tykronikans on the other hand, had not forgotten the sting of their defeat. Under the current rule of Emperor Faulkur Voltaris, their empire grew even stronger, its thirst for revenge surpassing even that of humanity. As Faulkur was commended by his people as an ultimate warlord of brutal tactics and ruthless ambitions and spent centuries recovering the remnants of his fallen empire, rebuilding their forces, and searching for the one thing that could finally tip the scales in their favor. When 2411 rolled by, the first attack came. Humanity, prepared and fueled by centuries of advancements from their enemy's technology, launched a devastating strike against one of the Tykronikan occupied worlds and up until then...war had begun again, but this time, Earth would not be the victim. This time, revenge would be theirs. (Note: This fight would go on about 30-some years.)
Governance Structure of the U.F.T
The Council of Terra (Supreme Authority)
Being the main thing of the UFT government is the Council of Terra, which is the centralized governing body comprised of the most influential leaders from Earth and its colonies. The Council of Terra acts as both the legislative and executive branch, wielding near-absolute power over humanity. It is chaired by the Primarch Chancellor, who serves as the supreme leader of the UFT and embodies the collective will of humanity.
- Primarch Chancellor: The head of the Council and the ultimate authority in the UFT. The Primarch Chancellor is chosen through a lifetime appointment by the Council itself. This position is occupied by individuals of immense charisma, strategic brilliance, and unwavering loyalty to humanity. They are seen as humanity's protector and ultimate unifier, holding powers that blend those of a military commander, spiritual guide, and political ruler.
- High Councilors: Surrounding the Primarch Chancellor are the High Councilors, each responsible for overseeing key domains of governance. These include:
- High Councilor of Defense and War: Controls the military-industrial complex and oversees the Space Marine Legions, Armada Fleets, and planetary defense forces.
- High Councilor of Science and Aetherics: Responsible for managing humanity’s technological and magi-tech advancements, including the Aetherforge program.
- High Councilor of Colonies and Expansion: Administers interstellar colonies and ensures the smooth integration of conquered territories into the UFT.
- High Councilor of Industry and Resources: Oversees resource allocation, manufacturing, and the strategic exploitation of planetary resources.
- High Councilor of Unity: A quasi-religious figure tasked with promoting humanity’s ideological unity and morale, often invoking the memory of Earth's survival against the Tykronikans.
The Senate of the Federated Stars
Beneath the Council of Terra is the Senate of the Federated Stars, an advisory body made up of representatives from key planets, sectors, and military units. While the Senate lacks real executive power, it serves as a forum for the voice of colonies and regions to be heard. The Senate provides recommendations to the Council but is largely a tool for maintaining the illusion of representation and ensuring colonies feel somewhat involved in governance. Membership in the Senate is tightly controlled. Only loyalists and individuals with proven dedication to the UFT’s cause are granted seats. However, the Senate occasionally serves as a breeding ground for intrigue and political maneuvering.
The Arbiterium (Judiciary and Enforcement)
The Arbiterium is the UFT’s judiciary and enforcement branch, tasked with maintaining law and order across the vast federation. It enforces the will of the Council of Terra, with a rigid code of laws designed to preserve unity, suppress rebellion, and ensure productivity.
- "The Judges": Elite arbiters imbued with Aetherforge-enhanced abilities, responsible for carrying out justice and taking care of corruption or sedition withing the federation.
- Peacekeepers of Terra: Militarized police forces tasked with suppressing uprisings and maintaining order, often operating with very promising performances.
