One of the most shocking events in the recent decades has been the unprecedented rise of the United North American States. Formed under the mysterious
Guardian Traveler, it rapidly grew from a tiny assortments of settlements in Minnesota to a truly massive nation state in a short period of time.
History
Coming of the Guardian
The UNAS was originally just a small collection of local tribes and settlements based around the old city of Duluth in Minnesota. The mysterious individual only known as the Guardian Traveler had set up a small alliance between these groups to foster unity and defend against further raids.
In time, the Guardian would travel abroad, his exploits becoming legendary, and wherever he went order and stability seemed to follow. Further alliances and coalitions were made and forged.
Rapid Expansion and Formation
The Guardian Traveler would go on to travel the world, first going west and then east and learning secrets of all kind. Returning to his home, he began a sudden and unprecedented campaign in 2279. Using the technology and information he discovered, the Guardian Traveler conquered the Factories, a powerful industrial region, and used them to equip the Pax American Army. This army was in reality a large group of controlled clones injected with a more effective F.E.V, and were trained and equipped with power armor and other advanced machinery.
The Pax American would expand over the next decade and quickly conquer any meager resistance. The UNAS was formally created on July 4, 2286, and has proven to be a shocking new major powerhouse in the modern world.
Currant Status
The UNAS currently has a slight rivalry with the NCR, and is beginning to act as the police force of sorts for the United Nations of America. Despite this, with a powerful army to enforce its vision the UNAS will certainly be one of the biggest players in the new world that is being made.
Government & Politics
Laws
The UNAS has a few of its own distinctive law structure and regulations, but most are essentially the same as the other major republics. Each citizen has voting rights and legal protections, and are able exercise religious freedoms and such. The republic also has several laws allowing for immigration, statehood, and bans several extreme actions, such as drunkenness, crimes against humanity, violence, fanatic religions, and slavery.
Government Structure & Bodies
The UNAS is inspired by many of the republics of the America, and the original USA. There exists several different branches that serve various positions and powers.
Executive Branch
The executive branch is the cabinet headed by the president of the UNAS, and their vice president, elected by the Congress. When elected, the president and their cabinet serve a term of 4 years before elections are to be held again.
Legislative Branch
The UNAS possess a House of Representatives and a Senate, which serves in a similar fashion to its pre-Great War counterparts. With vast size of the UNAS there exists plenty of territory for senators and representatives to represent in Congress.
Judicial Branch
The judicial branch is comprised of courts and judges ruling in accordance with federal law and submit before the Supreme Court. Smaller court judges have jurisdiction over smaller areas, moving down the ladder to local judges that help handle small local affairs.
Foreign Relations
The UNAS fought the Khanate of Four Skulls during its expansion, winning a the small Battle of Fargo. Though the conflict was relatively small and the two have seen little reason to continue fighting, the Khan of Khans is very apprehensive about this sudden and massive nation to the east and right on his doorstep,
Texas and the UNAS have a pretty good relationship with each other. A prosperous trade deal with each other has benefited each nation, and the Texans and northerners have a respect for each other.
The UNAS has worked hard to ensure good relations with all the nations, but Indiana is still a little bit apprehensive about their new powerful neighbors. Despite this, between the two much of the old Great Lakes are open trade and control, and Indiana is at the least respectful of the UNAS.
As for other nations, the United North American States are generally revered and looked up to, but have a small but growing rivalry with California for the position of perceived leader of the new American world.
States
The UNAS is divided into six states, mostly based off the original states of the US.

- Canada – Guardian City
Society & Culture
The UNAS sudden expansion led to a dramatic upheaval and then rapid stabilization of their lives, and united many disparate groups, settlements, and factions. This has led to an interesting mix of various groups with their own cultures, though an overall culture has been emerging in the nation. There does exist some tension between former unfriendly groups, but for the most part a peaceful and coexistent culture is being formed.
The citizens of UNAS are known to be extremely friendly and nice, perhaps unsettlingly so, but are also quite proud of their accomplishments in recent years. A large portion of the population descend from Swedish and Norwegian ancestors and this cultural history still plays a small part in their culture today.
Economy
Currency
The UNAS makes use sole of the American Standard Dollar, which it largely vouched for and was integral in the creation of it.
Trade
The UNAS trade pretty much everything and anything it can, but is mostly known for the skilled factories and strong industry it has that is capable of mass producing pretty much anything.
Geography
Most of the Midwest has now come under the come under the sway of the Khanate, the UNAS, or other factions, nations, or tribes. The UNAS controls an eastern portion of the territory, from the more cold climate of former Canada to the southern plains of Iowa.
Subdivisions
Greater Minnesota
The region sometimes termed as “Greater Minnesota” consists of the named state, but also generally the Canadian states as well, and generally are colder and rocky landscapes.
Eastern Plains
The eastern sides of the nation border the Khanate of Four Skulls, to the east of the Mississippi River, and thus have some tensions with the Khanfolk on the other side. They are more defensive and apprehensive.
Southern Plains
Below Minnesota is what is considered the Southern Plains. Originally controlled by brutal but meager mutant tribes and warlords, but with the Pax American Army has all but wiped out any resistance in the area.
Military
The UNAS has perhaps the best military in America, but this is only due to the unique nature of its soldiers. While slowly being replaced by more original recruits, the majority of the UNAS Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corp, and Waste Guard, are synthetic clones. These clones have also been injected and altered by the Forced Evolutionary Virus, specifically designed to make them stronger and tougher than the average human, without the negative side effects. These clones are given chips to control them and are installed with military tactics and training, and to top it off are equipped with the best armor and weaponry.
Technology
The UNAS, thanks to deep links and trade with other nations, has the potential access to many other important technologies and machinery, and once something is discovered the scientists of the nation study it, dissect it, and rebuilt new machines based on these designs.
