The Xylnaridium Empire is a stellar power controlling the Oirator System and one of the many civilizations absorbed into the Kingdom of Kerolon during the latter's era of interstellar expansionism, during which Xylnaridium existed as an autonomous dominion of the Kerolonian Kingdom. Its capital is the White Rhombus, located on the Xylnarid homeworld of Nyxoricate; its dominant species are Xylmethystas, a sentient race native to Nyxoricate; and Zarmulians, a sentient race native to the nearby world of Zyrical.
The Xylnaridium Empire has a long and violent history. Prior to its formation, its homeworld of Nyxoricate existed in a "modern" societal state similar to those of Zyrical, Tristania, or Earth prior to Uingffhian contact. However, a large impact event on Nyxoricate's only moon Tibiru triggered numerous smaller impact events on Nyxoricate from debris ejected from the primary impact, forcing the Xylmethystas underground. There, mass chaos and hysteria amongst the survivors allowed for the emergence of a theocratic regime revolving around "Tibiruism": the worship of Tibiru as a wrathful deity "punishing" the Xylmethystas' modern society for its decadence. This marked the formation of the Xylnaridium Empire. From there, the Empire rapidly technologically advanced upon encountering technology left behind by an ancient alien race underground. Upon re-emerging into the surface roughly a thousand years later, Xylnaridium entered an era of interplanetary militarism and expansionism motivated by a desire to spread the doctrines of Tibiruism; in the process, the Empire entered a long, protracted, and devastating war with the Zarmulian civilization of the nearby habitable moon Zyrical.
