The Yaric peoples or Yars are a diverse assortment of ethnic groups that have historically inhabited the steppes of Ochria and Nuro. Peoples which fall under the Yaric umbrella include the Bayars, Danyars, Douyars, Huvars, Huyatars, Oiyars, Rouyars, Salbars, Songars, Yayars, and Zheyars.
Origins
The ancestral Yaric tribes were most likely nomadic pastoralists living in Kuo, who were called yaryar ("barbarians", literally "babblers") by the sedentary Ghin. The nomads reclaimed the term, and began to self-identify as Yar, carrying the name with them when they migrated east.
