The Yarphese Huo (Hứa Vıệt Phờı) is the current currency of the Grand Yarphese Republic. It is currently worth approximately $US 0.133, but its value with respect to the US dollar is greatly increasing due to its fixation to the price of the combination of twenty dekagrams of wood, a liter of cardamom, an liter of cinnamon, a kilogram of basil, fifteen grams of gold, and eighteen grams of rhodium multiplied by a coefficient. It is one of the world's most stable currencies.
History
The Huo was introduced immediately in 1994 to replace the various currencies chaotically used throughout the country. At the time it was worth about US$1.57. It had always been fixed to the price of certain goods, leading to its popularity as a currency for investors to buy. This led to rapid hyperinflation, cutting the value by 92% in three years. In 1998, paper money was taken out of commission in order to stop this, and the international trade of the Huo was halted. From then on airports have checked in order to prevent the smuggling of Huo out of the country. Since then, investment in the Huo has been replaced by that in precious metals such as gold and diagold.
Coins
The Huo is unique in that it does not use paper money. There are coins ranging in value from 1/2 Huo to 1000000 Huo.
