Yasmin Casimir (born February 18th, 1972) is a Rainian statesman and politician who's a member of parliament representing Alaska and the second and current leader of the Green-Left Movement.
Born in Anchorage to an ethnically Iranian family, Yasmin grew up in a secular Shia household and attended the local school within Anchorage until she graduated and attended college at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She graduated in 1995 and got involved in politics eventually joining the Rainian Green Alliance in the last decade it was active. After the Rainian Green Alliance and Social Democratic Party of Rainier merged to form the Green-Left Movement, Yasmin joined the party, then an electoral alliance, when it was formed in 2004 and became a registered voter and party member in 2006. From 2007 to the present day, Yasmin has been one of the leading environmentalist activists and figures within Alaska raising concerns over climate change and the damage it will inflict upon the province if the proper action isn't taken.
In 2010 Yasmin was elected the leader of the Green-Left Movement and since becoming its leader, her tenure has been marked by a high degree of visibility and greater levels of media coverage of the party from conventions to rallies. In the 2017 House of Councilors election, the party only gained a new seat, but formed a confidence and supply agreement with the Labour Party and formed a coalition government with Labour Prime Minister Alexander Llewellyn.
