South Vietnam competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Istanbul, Anatolian Republic. Originally schedueled to take place in 2020, the games were delated to July 24 to August 9 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is South Vietnam's 12th appearance at the Summer Olympic Games since its debut at in 1968 at the games in Dresden, Germany having only boycotted the games of 1976 and 1992 due to ideological issues with both Spain and Korea at the time.

A delegation of 22 athletes from the Republic of Vietnam Olympic Committee competed in 11 Olympic Sports.
