Germany competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Istanbul, Anatolian Republic, which was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic until 23 July to 8 August 2021. This was Germany's 21st consecutive appearance in the Summer Olympic Games with the exception of the cancelled 1944 and 1964 games since its debut at the 1896 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
In general, Germany is competed in all sports except artistic swimming, baseball, rugby sevens, softball, and water polo.
