The Bataignens, sometimes known as the Battens, are an ethnic group inhabiting Bataigne.
History
In the classical period, a group of tribes known as the Batteni migrated into the lands of the declining Solcian Empire. The Battani adopted parts of Solcian culture and language, and carved several kingdoms out of former Solcian territory. Occasionally, the kingdoms would be united by a strongman to form a single empire, such as during the reign of Marcoman.
