The Bataignens (or Batainians), also known as the Battens or the Tainish, are an ethnic group inhabiting Bataigne.
History
In the classical period, a group of tribes known as the Batteni or Battani migrated into the lands of the declining Solcian Empire. The Batteni adopted parts of Solcian culture and language, and carved several kingdoms out of former Solcian territory. Occasionally, the kingdoms would be united by a strongman to form a single empire, such as during the reign of Marcoman.
