Elsweyr

Elsweyr (Ta'agra: Khaj ( listen), Cyrodilic: Aljo ( listen)) is the land of the feline Khajiit, located in southern Tamriel. It borders Valenwood to the west, Cyrodiil to the north, and Black Marsh to the east across the Niben.

Etymology

The name of the province in Cyrodilic is Aljo. It comes from Alijotele, the domain of the gods in Khajiit mythology. As is typical of Cyrodilic translations, the word was phonetically matched, in this case to alio ("elsewhere").

In Ta'agra, the country is referred to as Khaj ("Desert"), Khaj-kei ("Desert-land"), or Renada ("[the] Realms").
