The 2022 Honolulu gubernatorial election will take place on November 24, 2022, to elect the Governor of Honolulu. Incumbent Governor Cory Wiener of the Democratic-Republican Party is running for re-election to serve a second term. Wiener was first elected in 2018 and succeeded fellow Democratic-Republican Brian Kennedy.
The election will be the first to feature universal mail-in ballots and in-person voting on election day after legislation made pandemic-era voting formats pernament in 2021 by the Honolulu Grant Council. The election will also see the usage of ranked-choice voting for the primary elections as well per new legislation passed by Wiener. The winner of the election will be sworn in on December 6.
