Alessia
And this thing I have thought of, I have named it, and I call it freedom.
— Alessia, Song of Pelinal
Saint Alessia (died 1E 266), known by the honorific Paravant ("preeminent") and nicknamed the Slave Queen, was a revolutionary leader and monarch of the early First Era, who led a great uprising of enslaved peoples against Ayleid rule, together with her champions, Morihaus and Pelinal.[1] After overthrowing the Ayleids, she was crowned queen of Cyrod, ushering in the Alessian Empire. According to traditional accounts, upon her death she entered a covenant with Akatosh, who created the Amulet of Kings to contain her soul and the souls of her descendants, and to sanctify their rule.[2]
