The American Movement KS is a bipartisan all-party pressure group and non-profit political organization in the Kingdom of Sierra which advocates for continued Sierran membership in the Conference of American States along with advocating for strong relations between Sierra and CAS membership and promotes common American values, law, legal standards, and to uphold human rights in the country. It is one of the leading American unionist organizations in all of Sierra and is the oldest active pro-CAS organizations in Sierra.
The organization was founded in 1966 and is affiliated with American Movement International which promotes American integration and pushes for a "stronger union and larger, federal CAS within America". Following the federal election in 2016, American Movement KS became the main pro-CAS group in Sierra and was the leading group in the Remain campaign during the membership referendum in 2019 and founded Sierrans for America, a coalition of American unionist organizations in Sierra. Since 2020, American Movement KS has been advocating for pro-CAS policies, opposing Ameroskepticism, and supporting electing unionist politicians to public office and is in close connection to unionist parties.
History
The origins of the American Movement dates back to the aftermath of the Great War where the leaders of Anglo-American nations gathered in the aftermath to create a new international movement among the nations of the Americas to promote pan-American unity and to prevent future conflict and wars between the nations of the Americas. The Sierran section of the movement was founded in 1966 and was founded and originally lead by Earl Warren who supported the CAS as a means of unifying Anglo-America, preventing future conflict between the nations of the region, and as a means of containing the spread of Landonism and the overall influence of the United Commonwealth as the group was founded during the early stages of the Cold War. The group was originally founded as an anti-Landonist organization in-line with the politics, both in Sierra and the wider CAS, during the time as opposing further influence of Landonism and the United Commonwealth was the main goal of the Conference early on.
2019 referendum
The American Movement KS opposed the Ameroskepticism of Daniel McComb and many within the Royalist Party which stretched into the premiership of Nemesis Heartwell (2017–2020). Heartwell herself was opposed to any membership referendum and towards Sierrexit at large, but she would ultimately cave into the demands of her party and permitted a referendum, designated Proposition 88, and schedueled for it to occur on July 5, 2019. The American Movement KS would quickly emerge as one of the leading organizations in the Remain campaign and advocated for the continuation of Sierra's membership in the CAS and would form Sierrans for America to support its cause and organize the various organizations, advocacy groups and individuals who supported its cause.
Post-2019 activities
The referendum's outcome was celebrated by the movement as it ended in a victory for the Remain campaign and was viewed as a triumph of democracy over political extremism and polarization. After the referendum, the organization would voice opposition to any potential second referendum. On January 2, 2020, the American Movement KS announced that it would shift towards lobbying to oppose the efforts of similar pro-Sierrexit groups such as Proposition 89 and has been involved in numerous elections on all levels of government. The movement has been a staunch ally of Susan Kwon and her government despite her opposition towards lobbying in the country and has accepted their endorsements and support regardless. Allies of Kwon has also accepted their support and endorsements as well.
