The UH-90 Taurus is a dual rotor, twin-engine, medium-lift utility helicopter manufactured by Armor Militant Defense Industries. It will replace the UH-60 Blackhawk by 2016, with the first helicopters entering service in 2014 to become the primary special operations helicopter for the Militant Forces and the Planetary Security Forces.

Characteristics

The UH-90 features an eight-blade dual main rotors and and no tail rotors, powered by two General Electric T800 hydrogen turboshaft engines or a fusion cell engine in A2 variants. It has a long, low profile shape to meet the military's requirement for transporting aboard a C-130 Hercules. It can carry 8+ troops with equipment, lift 6,000 pounds of cargo internally or 15,000 pounds of cargo externally by sling. The Taurus helicopter series can perform a wide array of missions, including the tactical transport of troops, electronic warfare, and aeromedical evacuation. It can transport a Humvee with its crew. The Taurus is equipped with advanced avionics and electronics for increased survivability and capability. It also features a nose-mounted sensor suite for target acquisition and night vision systems and can be fitted with dual Hydra 70 rocket pods with a capacity of eight rockets.

The UH-90 can be equipped with stub wings at the top of the fuselage to carry various armaments or additional cargo. The pylons can also carry 10,000 pounds of armament such as rockets, missiles and gun pods.
