Sharlene of the Recapture (SotR) takes place 12 years after the events of Legend of Urlum the Evil. By then, the stellar powers have since begun to settle under the rule of the Federative Planets of Polyingffhaestia, which has dismantled the Uingffhian nations' imperial rule over the stars. Under Polyingffh, the various alien civilizations of the local stars work together to rebuild from the 12 Great Calamities and realize a more sustainable and equitable future connected to nature and community.
However, tensions flare up between Polyingffh and the inhabitants of the Altaria (Upsilon Andromedae) star system, a former Kerolonian colony whose populace opposes the Federation’s decolonization efforts. Seeking to restore the Kingdom of Kerolon to its former interstellar glory, the people of Altaria secede from the Federation as the Neo Kerolonian Empire, installing Otis Otilio Kerolon as the 10th emperor. Building up its strength, the Neo Kerolonian Empire then attacks the Earth, sealing all wormhole gates and restricting the activation of wormhole drives using sophisticated Syanthae Barriers. With all Polyingffhian aid having been cut off by the Syanthae Barriers, it is up to Sharlene Lia, a human who looked up to Prncess Urlum’s rebels, to liberate the Solar System and recapture the peace that Polyingffh created.
