Dr. Edgar George Zomboss, or simply Dr. Zomboss, is a major recurring character within the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. He is (or was) the main antagonist who leads all zombies to attack the player's and Crazy Dave's house in the PvZ series. He is the Leader of all zombies. He commands them to do tasks depending on the game mode. He is one of the Founders of Z-Tech with Crazy Dave. he has repeatedly proven himself to be a highly competent inventor and engineer as well as a mad scientest.
History
Dr. Edgar George Zomboss is a native of Neighborville, October 12, 1950. A scientific genius and devoted researcher, Zomboss combines his intellectual acumen with an absolute lack of anything resembling traditional morality.
Edgar was viewed as strange and unapproachable by human children, mainly because of his tendency to bite and hiss. At around age ten, Edgar declared a fellow child named David Blazing his 'nemesis.' This was the closest Zomboss had to an actual friend, though his lack of companionship was mostly by choice.
In high school, David managed to beat Zomboss in an annual science fair, and event the zombie would never forget. From this point forward, his rivalry with the human was kicked up a notch, and he began to actually desire to defeat Dave in whatever way he could.
Edgar was swiftly accepted into Neighborville University, (which, despite appearing from the outside to be a smalltown college, was actually a very prestigious and well-known university,) and began studying thanatology in the hopes of one day starting the zombie apocalypse. Here, he made fast enemies with what would later become the Anti-Bully Squad.
After kicking out his former dormmate, (Stilts,) Zomboss was saddled with a much worse roommate; his arch-nemesis, David Blazing. Because of this unfortunate scenario, Zomboss was stuck in a dorm full of plantlife (gardening being a hobby of Dave's) and occasionally had to babysit his dormmate's niece, Patrice.
Roughly ten years after receiving his doctorate, Dr. Zomboss began work on his apocalyptic plans, becoming more ruthless and villainous in the process. Soon Dr. Edgar Zomboss thus invaded suburbia and Neighborville beginning the PvZ Wars.
Rise to Power and Gray Gravel Invasion
The plants and zombies have been at war since their beginning, which the PvZ war as it came to be known, the war led to a stalemate until a foreigner arrived to their world. The man named Carlos Pardo had finally ended the war once and for all, they had secured and lived in an uneasy peace for some time but it was not to last.
Their home suffered an invasion by Gray Gravel.Co. ( Gray Mann and General No-Fun ) After the capture and conquest of Suburbia and Neighborville by Gray Gravel.Co, Its habitats, the Plants, Zombies, and Humans were scattered throughout the multiverse. Gray Gravel renamed Suburbia and Neighborville to Roburbia and No-Fun Land and Enslaved many humans while the Plants and Zombies got away. The color Gray was only the color allowed and OverIndustrial laws were implemented and strictly enforced. Gray Gravel had ruined all forms of life in Suburbia and Neighborville.
Unable to fight Gray Gravel seperately, Zomboss and the Zombies would then form a alliance with Dave, Patrice, Nate and the Plants with Carlos and his new best friend Lawrence Dye; Suburbia’s inhabitants gathered Allied Resistance against Gray Gravel from across the multiverse and the unification of dave’s and zomboss’s organizations and companies, they have united in an Alliance to defeat Gray Gravel and take back the homeland under the corporation of Z-Tech.Industries.
Appearance
Dr. Zomboss is a zombie with a large cranium, which is covered in veins. Like other zombies, he lacks a nose, ears, and a significant number of teeth. His eyes are yellow.
Zomboss commonly wears a labcoat, typically with black pants and shoes underneath. He also sometimes wears black gloves, though not always. In the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare series, he wears black gloves and what appears to be a voice translator machine on his chest.
Throughout the series, Dr. Zomboss has multiple appearances. In first game, he is as tall as a basic zombie with a big brain on his head, wears a white lab coat with black pants. Meanwhile, in Plants vs Zombies 2, he is a zombie who appears to be very short, similar size to the imp. He has a big brain on his head. He wears different white uniform but with buttons as details on it and has black pants (while white pants in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2) that can tell he is a scientist. Unlike other zombies, he wears two shoes.
Personality
Unlike most zombies, who are unintelligent and mindless, Dr. Zomboss is an intelligent and evil being who can construct several powerful machines and deploy a mass array of zombies to thwart Crazy Dave, the players, and their botanical arsenal. He has an obsession with tormenting the players, as he could perform his mechs to harm the players' plants. He also likes to crush his minions and showed no concern about it, not only based on the game mechanics, but it could also demonstrate that he would harm anything in his way.
Zomboss is also very manipulative, as he tried to pursue the players multiple times to let them refuse to fight him and his army. All of his lies would come too far when he told them that Plant Foods are from zombies. However, even if he is a good liar, the players would still fight them, as Penny later debunked those false theories afterward. Although he may be a liar, at the end of Plants vs. Zombies 2, Zomboss tried to convince Dave that he should stop seeking to re-eat the taco, as it would damage time itself.
In the first two shooter games, most of Dr. Zomboss's constructions of various machines and locations were his proper mindset. He always pushes his zombies to fight the plants at all costs. He dislikes them failing him, but he was not very angry at them, as stated in one of his lines: I'm not mad, just disappointed. On the contrary, he likes to compliment his zombies when they are victorious over the plants.
In Plants vs. Zombies Heroes, Zomboss is determined to unite the Zombies Heroes to submit to his world domination goals. To show his relationships with the Zombie Heroes, in general, he congratulates them if they fulfilled his plans. In individuals, Zomboss is annoyed by Super Brainz and Impfinity's mischief, as with Professor Brainstorm, he is envied by the professor's intellect.
As the smartest of all the Zombies, gifted with his extraordinary intellect, Zomboss is also a smart strategist. He holds a lot of backup plans to fill in should one of his machines malfunction and should the Gargantuars that he stationed to protect the world keys fall. His advanced technologies, intense focus, and single-minded pursuit of order and perfection have left his centenarian mind as sharp and focused as ever. Zombos's research has pushed the technological boundaries of what was considered possible, resulting in incredible technologies and the colonization of the Moon and Terraforming.
Above all else, Zomboss is a bona fide genius, a polymath who has single-handedly revolutionised many fields of science, including biology, chemistry, physics, computing, warfare, artificial intelligence, space exploration, and many more.

- Evolution Syndrome: An uncommon side effect of being a clone, Zomboss has Evolution Syndrome, This makes him immune to Brainwashing, and also makes his eyes yellow (instead of red, which is typical for Ancient Zombies.)

Skillset
- Doctorate in Thanatology: Having a doctorate in the literal science of death, Zomboss is skilled at any and all things involving it. This is mostly used in the creation and repair of zombies.
- Engineering: Along with thanatology, Zomboss is also incredibly good with machinery. Building giant robots is a personal passion of his.
- Manipulator: Zomboss is very good at reading people, and in turn, tricking them. Mainly, he can provoke anger, and sow doubt into typically allied forces.
