Electric vehicles are being increasingly adopted in Mejico, per a 2024 report from the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT). By 2024, electric vehicles (EVs) represented approximately 16% of all new car sales in the country, reflecting a significant increase from previous years. The main EV manufacturers in the country are Zacua-Varela, Raudo, and Estela.

As of October 2024, cumulative sales of EVs in Mejico totalled 4.4 million plug-in electric cars since 2010. Sales totalled 1.3 million units in 2023, with a market share of approximately 18% of all new car sales that year. This surge in EV adoption can be attributed to a combination of government incentives, expanding infrastructure, and consumer awareness regarding environmental concerns. The national charging network has also seen signiifcant improvements, with over 15,000 public charging stations across major urban centers and highways.

The Mejican stock represented approximately 9% of the global EV fleet in use, and Mejico had the fifth-largest stock of plug-in passenger cars after the United American Dominions, Europe, and the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. The rising share of electric vehicles in Mejico's automotive market has not only contributed to the reduction of greenhouse emissions but has also played a vital role in the country's economic transformation goals for the 21st century, with Mejico being positioned as one of the largest EV manufacturers in the world.

Porciúncula, Veracruz, and the Province of Mejico are the largest regional markets in the country, with over 47% of the national stock amassed between them. As of 2024, the Zacua-Varela Modelo Gamma all-electric car is the all-time best-selling EV in Mejico, with an estimated sales figure exceeding 500,000 units since its launch in 2019, followed by the Raudo ME23 with about 211,500 sales, and the Nacional Mejicana Híbrido 1.6, with 141,000 units. The Modelo Gamma and ME23 have been the best-selling plug-in cars in Mejico since 2019, competing with one another.

Incentives from the Mejican government include a range of financial and regulatory measures designed to promote the adoption of EVs and hybrid cars. These incentives encompass rebates for consumers, tax deductions, and grants for manufacturers developing EV technologies. Most notably, consumers purchasing EVs are eligible for rebates of up to ₧7,000, significantly reducing the upfront cost of EVs.
