Energy in Mejico is obtained from a diverse portfolio of sources, the majority of which are renewable, making it a leader in sustainable energy production. The country has made significant investments and implemented policies to promote the use of clean and renewable energy sources, reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating the environmental impact.

In 2023, Mejico consumed a total of 3,897.26 TWh of electricity, of which, 60.7%, or 2,365.76 TWh came from renewable sources. Nuclear power was the most important contributor, as 1,302.48 TWh proceeded network of nuclear power plants, most of which were established during the 20th century. Solar power was the second largest contributor, with 502.18 TWh, followed by wind power, with 330.61 TWh, and hydropower, with 230.48 TWh. Smaller contributors include geothermal power, with 58.1 TWh, and biomass, with 24.01 TWh.

Non-renewable energy sources in Mejico, which account for 39.3% of the country's total energy supply, are primarily composed of natural gas and oil. These resources are still utilized, albeit to a lesser extent compared to the past. Mejico's oil production, the fourth highest in the world, accounts for 8.7 million barrels per day; and accounts for approximately 10% of the country's total exports. Thus, petroleum accounts for the majority of the country's non-renewable energy consumption, at about 1,212.57 TWh. Natural gas and coal are also significant contributors to Mejico's non-renewable energy mix, with natural gas accounting for 229.29 TWh and coal contributing 16.02 TWh in 2023.

Energy production is managed by the Royal Commission of Electricity (Spanish: Real Comisión de Electricidad; RCE) and the state-owned company of Petróleos Mejicanos (Mejican Oil; known as PEMEX). The RCE is responsible for overseeing the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Mejico. It operates a robust grid network that delivers electricity to households, businesses, and industries across the country. The RCE has played a key role in expanding renewable energy infrastructure, coordinating investments, and ensuring the integration of various renewable energy sources into the electricity grid.
