Figayace (Cienugueza: Figayace, Tagdamun: Haddagtingun, Tsinsat: TBD市), officially known as the City of Figayace, is a southern Chungganese city in the state of Manlusoc. It is the capital and second-largest city of Manlusoc. As of 3390, Figayace had a population of over 5.297 million. It is bordered by Cienula and Gianos to the west, Cipaciari to the northwest, Haverino to the northeast, and Feyorde and Necamo to the east.
Figayace is home to the largest percentage of native Cienugueza speakers; as many as 3 million, or more than 60% of the whole population, reported Cienugueza as their native language. The city celebrates a rich and vibrant cultural tradition lasting for over one and a half millennia; Figayace is one of the largest cities to hold festivals dating back to the pre-Unification era. The Kugisa Heritage Museum, dedicated to preserving the Cienugueza people's heritage, is the largest of its kind in the whole Qenuga. The Asunzón Preservation, located in the old city center, is one of the most-visited and best-preserved ruins nationwide. Additionally, the Cienugueza language used in Figayace is widely considered to be "Standard Cienugueza". All this makes Figayace be known for being the "Cienugueza motherland".
Aside from its unique Cienugueza identity, Figayace is also home to the San Osé Library, the largest library outside Makat with over 30 million books, compendia, and academic papers in Tagdamun, Cienugueza, and English. The city is also a top producer of basil leaves.
Overview
Etymology
The name of Figayace comes from the Amorese phrase figa sixasi, meaning "unbreakable wall". Figa Sixasi was the name given to the capital of former Asunzón state. Meanwhile, the Tagdamun name for the city, Haddagtingun, is a semi-learned borrowing from the Amorese surname Bidapalo from one of the powerful noble families before the Cinutian Revolution.
