In the Year 6000 is a 2024 American sci-fi constructed world from Constructed Worlds wiki user F0rsaken about the future of humanity on Terra (In the Year 6000's Earth). The constructed world is based on the made-for-television horror science fiction film from American International PicturesIn the Year 2889 (1967). The constructed world will dive into topics that may be hard to understand, or too lore-wise advanced for the average reader. Some events as well might be too graphic for an audience under the age of 13, as entire battles and wars are described in detail and the actions depicted in those wars are all but shown in text. The Constructed world also will need some prior knowledge on the ideas of body modification, or the geological events that are assumed to occur in the future of the human race. In case articles explicitly say this, their Wikipedia pages will be linked in the "See Also" section for easy reading.

In the movie In the Year 2889, the plot consists of a nuclear war that wiped out most of Earth’s population, and follows a group of survivors who are holed up in a secluded valley and must protect themselves from rising radiation levels as a result of the nuclear conflict, mutants, and in some cases––each other. The movie is based off of (only in name) Jules Verne's sons poem of the same name. However, the name is where the similarities between the movie and the constructed world end as the nuclear war never occurs, and the human race had already colonized other planets by the early 4300s. For further clarification and to not mix anyone up–The year 6000 is indeed commonly referred to as an eschatological event in the Jewish religion in which the messiah of Judaism returns in the Hebrew year of 6000. According to tradition, the Hebrew calendar started at the time of creation, placed at 3761 BCE. The current year 2024, is year 5785. The start of the 6000th year is in actuality, the 29th of September 2239. No relation to In the Year 6000 is intended with the Jewish meaning.

  • Warhammer, a tabletop miniature wargame with a medieval fantasy theme, and the constructed world is mainly based off of it's spin-off, Warhammer 40,000 (Warhammer 40K) and is referred to as the most popular miniature wargame in the world. Set in the distant future, where a stagnant human civilization is beset by hostile aliens and supernatural creatures. Initially conceived as a sci-fi counterpart to the original Warhammer series of tabletop miniature wargames. A near-stagnant human race and ruined Earth in the story is one of the main inspirations for the story of In the Year 6000.
    • It is also based off of it's Hearts of Iron IV counterpart, the Unification Wars. Which takes place chronologically before the human race is united into one all encompassing country. In the story of the mod, as the thirteenth-millennium drew to a close, it seemed that any hope for humanity was lost. A massive galaxy-spanning empire reduced and shatter to pieces. Allowing the players of Hearts of Iron IV to step into the Warhammer 40K universe at a pivotal moment, letting them shape the fate of Terra. (The fractured state of humanity and the name of Earth is taken from this mod, and further Warhammer lore.)
  • Fallout; a series of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, at Interplay Entertainment. The series is set during the first half of the third millennium, and its environment is one of the main inspirations for the environment of In the Year 6000. I do not own the rights to Fallout, as Bethesda Softworks does.
  • and finally, the DOOM franchise. The DOOM franchise is an American media franchise created byJohn Carmack, John Romero, Adrian Carmack, Kevin Cloud, and Tom Hall. The series usually focuses on an unnamed space marine (often referred to as the Doomguy or the Doomslayer) operating under the auspices of the UAC, who fights hordes of demons and the undead to save Earth from an apocalyptic invasion. However, I ignored the lore of the DOOM franchise, and focused more on the technology of it. Some of the technology is downright referenced in this constructed world, and is important to understanding how Earth got to this point.

The star system of the Solar System has almost entirely been taken over by the human race, with a few gas-giants being ignored as they were deemed "unimportant" to the mission of spreading the human race as far as they could during the timeline. The Solar System by the year 6000 is commonly referred to as successfully "conquered" by the human race, having successful colonies on most planet or planet-objects that were assumed to be able to carry life in the modern day (2024). Space travel has been attempted, and has been successful for the most part. Missions however to far outer space have not been attempted due to the amount of time it would take for it to successfully reach any far-flung objects. However, teleportation in the constructed world is being attempted, with one successful experiment taking place between two landmasses. Figures from the far-past year of 2024 have been all but forgotten, and if you had asked the regular human of 6000 A.D. what the Spanish were or what the European Union were, they would have no idea of what you’d be talking about. Religions have largely collapsed as well over time, as dictators over the period between 2024 and 6000 have all but banned religions like Christianity, and very few churches dedicated to those religions remain on the Earth as the regular civilian of any of the thousands of countries that exist on the planet would have no idea of what a Christianity or an Allah is.

In the midst of all this, a cult dedicated to the past is one of the main remaining movements that wish to bring ideals from 2024 back into the mainstream in the year 6000, however their movements have largely failed because most of humanity had “denounced” such cultures all the way back in 3401. Several religious movements have also attempted to bring back old-world religions like the Neo-Christian movement that is discussed more further down in the page. Technology in the new world has also seen incredibly different progressions, as much of what we'd call impossible now, is possible then. There are more possibilities for body modification, like the modification of height and weight that isn't through surgeries that make you taller or plastic surgery that make you "fatter", let's say. However, reversing aging, curing all diseases, and precise control of personality, mood, motivation, or well-being has been found to be impossible with technology from then in the timeline, and has largely been ignored.

Thesigraphy & Ypderiagraphy of the Year 6000

Thesigraphy (or formerly, Geography), is the study of the lands, features, inhabitants and phenomena of planets other than Earth. Thesigraphy is an all-encompassing discipline that seeks an understanding of the planet and its ecology and natural complexities—not merely where objects are, but also how they have changed and come to be. It is different from Yperdiagraphy as it has to deal with the study of general outer space, not planets. Thesigraphy is a massive field in which the history of Terra, and the Thesiology of Terra are studied. Landmasses, as you can likely tell through the maps, are incredibly different. Previously, the massive oceans that existed in the 2nd millennia were drained by 4000 meters in the couple millennia that has gone by. As a result of the success of life on Earth, the Thesigraphy of planets has several levels regarding its habitability and ecology, and several planets in and around the Solar system have been categorized by these guidelines.

These guidelines are not exclusive, as a planet can have an objective opinion and public opinion, and the scientific field is gauged for the objective opinion, and the public is gauged for the public opinion. They're usually listed on their respective articles;

  • I – The planet has no habitability, and no ecology. The planet is incredibly dangerous for the habitation of life outside and including the human race, and has been considered for planetary mining. Planets in this category are; Venii, Mirka, or the nearby exoplanet known as Solatra, which is situated right outside of the Solar system. Planets in this category are usually closest to a star, or are gas giants like Jupiter.
  • II – The planet in this category is being considered for terraforming by the OuraNation committee for planetary science. The planet is, albeit dangerous, could potentially become home to human habitation and other animals, and has been voted against being used as a planetary mine. Planets in this category are Palea, and Nixis. Haumea was previously known in this category, but fell into the planet Nixis in 5726.
  • III – The planet in this category is perfect for human habitation, and has ecological habitation already. Planets like Tharion, previously known as the Red Eye (3025--4243) had become perfect for life forming on the planet in the year 4500. Planets in this category are Terra, Tharion, and Suleta in the nearby Aethra galaxy. The OuraNation council released a list of potential Level 3 planets in the nearby Newill system in the late 5900s.

The concept of thesigraphy was known to be present in all cultures pre-3000s, and therefore the history of discipline is a series of competing narratives, with concepts emerging at various points across space and time. From what we know currently, the earliest known map of the planet Terra was created in 1989 AD, having been known as the “Glaciara” which involved two sides and nuclear weapons. Earlier maps have been lost, but have been assumed to have existed as the history of the human race is assumed to be as far back as the year 4000 BC. In the past and even now, history is looked back upon with assumedly rose-tinted glasses as movements that have old-world connections are very common, especially modern day as there are many that wish to return the humanity to the "golden age" which is considered

Thesiology was also incredibly important in the past as it is now, as it deals with the terrain of Terra. Thesiology (or formerly, Geology), is a branch of natural science concerned with the Earth and other astronomical objects, the rocks of which they are composed, and the processes by which they change over time. More recently (in the vein of thousands of years), Thesiology has included the sea level dropping due to the need of more land for agriculture dedicated to the rapidly increasing human population, and the project that had caused the drop, which had ended up causing a large part of Terra’s surface to go through the process of desertification, but some aspects of the project was successful, and has assisted with production of food for nearly 1 trillion human beings.

While the discipline of thesigraphy is normally concerned with planets, Ypderiagraphy deals with the study of other worlds, such as the planets of the Solar System and even beyond. Previously, it was entitled “Planetary science” by old world scientists in the early 20th centuries. The study of other planets is usually called Ypderiagraphy, alternative terms such as Thariography (geography of mars) have been employed to describe the study of other celestial objects. This is far less important to the sciences of the planet as this deals more with the outside rather than the inside.

History of the Year 6000

The world (with countries) in the year 6000 A.D.

The Neo–Contemporary Era is a historical period that began in the late–57th century. It is characterized by thousands of member states founding the OuraNation council that united the entire planet under one banner in the city of Nyorca. The onset of the Neo–Contemporary Era has been linked to the development of limited landmass-to-landmass teleportation. What was then called the Internet was reintroduced to the public as Contempnet (Contemporary Net), and allowed for extensive information flow through the thousands of metropolitan cities across Terra. According to the OuraNation World Administrative Network (ONWAN), the Neo–Contemporary Era was named as such due to the reintroduction of old-world technology that was viewed as “helpful” from a modern-day standpoint.

Prior to the Neo–Contemporary Era, the history of the Human race can be boiled down to a couple eras that stemmed from the Information age of the 21st century (approximately 2010–2011) when widespread digitization and the internet were common in most households across the planet. During the time between the 2000–3000s, several thousand species went extinct, causing a large decrease in ecological diversity. Household pets remain as a reminder to what used to be in the Contemporary Era in the 2000s. Several pages are accessible for cataloging information based on past human events.

The world in the year 6000 A.D., notice the decreased sea level.

Post–2020:

  • 2020–2100 (Contemporary Era) – Much of the human race was split on the ideals of green politics during this time, and from what we know now, the public generally viewed the environment as important and wished for political identities across the planet to respect that. Rights for all were also incredibly important during this era, and several pandemics took place. Historians across the world call this era the “technological golden age” as it was deemed the “perfect time” to be born in to see a massive technological jump.
  • 2100–2500 (Eco-death) – During this era, the human race reached approximately 180 billion people by the end of the 2490s. What was the environment in the era prior was unrecognizable, the sea level was dropping heavily because of the increased demand of agricultural sites. Politics was also incredibly different during this era as surgeries to deal with body modification were heavily debated on. Most thought that it was an “evil” practice, but some allowed it to take place. Some countries from the previous era remained together during this time.
  • 2500–3500 (Seventh Industrial Revolution) – All of the world’s nations by 3000 have collapsed into several other countries by this point. Culture began to change heavily as the population began to boom during this time. A phenomena in those that were above the age of 35 began to crop up as they began reminiscing on events that were far before their own birth, like the creation of the Internet in the 1980s, wanting to return to a period like that as Mass-desertification began as the sea level dropped faster than it had ever before.
  • 3500–4500 (Regret) – Historians call this era the “regret” era as much of the population had begun to feel the effects of heavily overpopulation, and propaganda that advertised a return to “pre-2100” times would crop up all over the world and what was the Internet. As the world neared 500 billion people, the sea level would begin to drop uncontrollably as the facilities handling the sea level began to see the overpopulation, trying to continue the increase in farmland. During this time, a many-century war between 2 massive powers would render 24% of Terra’s surface bomb-ridden and in a sort of wasteland-like state.
  • 4500–5700 (Denial era) – During this era, most of the world’s population would begin to deny the problem of overpopulation. Fooling themselves into a state of normalcy, like the times prior to 2100. Much of the world by this era lives in massive cities that span entire swaths of land comparable to what was old-world “Caphorna,” which was stated to have been as large as what is now the Nyorca plains. Off-world colonization began later on during this era as even heads of states would begin to see the problems caused by mass-overpopulation. As a result, thousands of colonies would be formed by various space agencies across Terra.
  • 5700–6000 (Neo–Contemporary Era) – This is the period of time that is occurring now. The Neo–Contemporary era is contrasted with the past, the period of time that has already occurred, and the future, the period of time that has yet to occur. The world is in a state of calmness, having recovered itself from a period of constant war between two massive states from 4300–5100. Much of the population in this era has no recollection of any war taking place, and is commonly misled into the fact that the war hadn’t taken place, yet excusing scars on the land from the many-century war as “Thesiological events” that had “taken place many centuries in the past.”

Thesiology of the Year 6000

Thesiology (formerly known as Geology by humans pre–3000) is a branch of natural science concerned with Terra, other astronomical objects, the rocks of which they are composed, and the processes by which they change over time. Modern thesiology includes the study of the oceans (or the seas that remain), and is integrated into planetary science. Thesiology describes the makeup of the earth, and the structure that has shaped it. Thesiologists study the mineralogical contents of rocks to make statements about how a planet was shaped and formed by erosion or any other factor. Thesiology also determines the relative and even exact ages of rocks at times; Thesiochemistry (a branch of thesiology) is known for that. By combining various petrological, crystallographic, and paleontological tools, Thesiologists are able to chronicle the geological history of the Terra as a whole.

Thesiology as a science is common, as many thesiologists like to determine how the environment changed in the way it did, and have analyzed rocks for common elements of air and water pollution, having found a correlation that the environment had deteriorated over a period of 4000 years since 2000, when it was determined to have been in the best state it was ever in by thesiologists. One aspect they usually focus on is finding the true age of Terra, however it has been difficult as air pollution and collection of plastic products and pollutants have hidden some parts of the planet that would’ve been helpful in finding the age of it.

Thesiologists still follow the old-world practice of Geological time, but instead–It’s Thesiological time. The timescale of Terra is still followed heavily by those in Thesiology, as it helps understand the structure of the planet and how it evolved over time. A couple milestones are known to have taken place after the 200,000 years ago, and will be listed here;

Milestones on Terra (post-200 ka);

  • 200 ka; First modern homo sapiens appear in East Africa (modern day Olkanet) – Humans were known in the past to have come and evolved from African apes on the African continent around 200 thousand years ago, and the closest ancestors we have (Primates that were spread around Africa) have all but gone extinct, with one that has survived in a near-extinction state in Amarraiko.
  • 3 ka; the Sea-level reaches its lowest it’s ever been, at a drop of 3500 meters – Thousands, if not millions of species die due to this, and a massive drop in biodiversity known as the Quaternary Extinction took place from the years of 3000–3750.
  • 1.5 ka; Erosion of what used to be the great plains took place, and is now known as the great desert. Farmland in this part of the planet is completely unusable, and ruins of old-world farms are visible through the sand dunes.
  • 1 ka; a massive planet-wide spanning war (known as World War IV) took place and the usage of powerful weapons and explosives whittled down massive swaths of land and exposed old-world cities that have been excavated and analyzed by thesiologists and paleontologists.

What remains of the old-world are lost to time, and those small but massive cities that had spanned small swaths of land have all been mostly lost, as wars that previously took place (like the aforementioned World War 4) has damaged previous sites of protection that would’ve helped assist in finding the age of the planet.

Ypderiagraphy of the Year 6000

Ypderiagraphy is the study of outer space and non-planetary objects. It uses math, physics, and chemistry to understand how non-planetary objects and objects in outer space were formed, and analyzes them for future colonization by the human race. Objects of interest include moons, stars, nebulae, galaxies, meteoroids, asteroids, and comets. Relevant phenomena include supernova explosions, gamma ray bursts, quasars, blazars, pulsars, and cosmic microwave background radiation. Generally, it is the study of things that aren’t inside Terra or other planets. Kozmhology is the study of the entire universe over all, and the study of other universes.

Ypderiagraphy is known as one of the oldest forms of science in human history. From what scientists have pieced together, early civilizations had pieced together entire star systems and how planets had stayed together. In the past, ypderiagraphy included disciplines as diverse as ypderiametry, celestial navigation, observational yepderiagraphy, and the making of calendars. However, nowadays professional ypderiagraphy is known for three branches, Theoretical ypderiagraphy, modern ypderiagraphy, and historical ypderiagraphy. Theoretical ypderiagraphy consists of the study of what is assumed to take place in space, modern ypderiagraphy consists of the study of current-age space, and historical ypderiagraphy consists of the study of historical events taking place in space.

Ypderiagraphy is one of the few sciences in which amateurs play an active role. This is especially true for the discovery and observation of transient events. Amateur Ypderiagraphologists have helped with many important discoveries, such as finding new comets. In recent times, much of the field has been united under a massive research corporation; ASYC (Amarraikan Space and Ypderiological Corporation), founded in early 4500 as a part of an expanding nation that once existed. It assists in most efforts of space travel and space colonization, having employed millions across the planet. However, it still assists in amateur work in the field rather than hurting it.

Countries of the Year 6000

A sovereign state is a state that has the supreme sovereignty or ultimate authority over a territory. It is commonly understood that a sovereign state is independent. When referring to a specific polity, the term "country" may also refer to a constituent country, or a dependent territory. Since the end of the 19th century, almost the entire globe has been divided into sections (countries) with more or less defined borders assigned to different states. Currently, the international community consists of more than 500 sovereign states (571 total) as of 6000 A.D. A sovereign state in the year 6000 usually has a couple guidelines of classification, and for the opposite for states that are unrecognized:

  1. It must have a permanent population, it cannot be a semi-permanent state where its citizens are temporarily living. It must also have a population of above 1,000–10,000.
  2. It must have a defined territory, its land is clearly placed and is defended.
  3. It must have a free government, not a puppet or colony of any other country. It must also clearly state its head and cabinet.
  4. It must also have the capacity to associate itself with other sovereign states outside of online. It must mostly have land routes, sea routes, or air routes.
  5. It must also be recognized by one-third of the OuraNation committee of over 1000. If not, the country is rendered unrecognized and encounters issues with diplomacy.
  6. And for unrecognized states (who have to follow multiple of these, not just one);
    1. Less than one-third of all sovereign states state their support for the recognition of a state
    2. Less than 10,000 people
    3. Land is not clearly placed
    4. Unfree government

Culture of the Year 6000

Science in the Year 6000

Generally, science is a systematic discipline that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable hypotheses and predictions about the universe. Modern science (in the year 6000), is typically divided into 3–4 major branches: the natural sciences (e.g., physics, chemistry, biology), which study the physical world; behavior sciences (e.g., economics, psychology, and sociology); the formal sciences (e.g., logic, mathematics, and theoretical computer science), which study formal systems governed by axioms and rules; and finally–Computer sciences (e.g., Computer science, and technological engineering science.)

In this category, it’s more on the usage of technology in the year 6000. Body modification on the planet is widespread, and consists of the deliberate altering of the human anatomy or human physical appearance and human enhancement; the natural, artificial, or technological alteration of the human body in order to enhance physical or mental capabilities. As of 6000 AD, all human capabilities are able to be modified. Reproductive, physical, mental, illness protection, and more recently–increase in size and height of the human body.

Cloning is possible in this era as well, but it is ill advised as clones that have been created have died prematurely to heart diseases or by chance randomly. No intensive process with nanomedicine or 3D bioprinting had any effect with assisting against the dangers of cloning, and has largely been ignored as a problem that would worsen overpopulation on Terra. However, cloning of the mental capabilities of a human being has been attempted, with largely positive effects. Mind uploading has been common after the death of a human being, but most wish to leave the dead to rest.

However, reversing aging, curing all diseases, and precise control of personality, mood, motivation, or well-being has been found to be impossible with technology from today. Aging is an impossible aspect of a human body to reverse, and was found to be as such in the early 2400s. Curing all diseases is also impossible, as it has been shown that diseases have adapted to nano-machines, and have even used them to facilitate the spread of their cells. Precise control of personality, mood, motivation, but not well-being has also been found to be impossible.

Religion in the Year 6000

Generally, Religion is a range of social-cultural systems, including designated behaviors and practices, morals, beliefs, worldviews, texts, sanctified spaces, prophecies, ethics, or organizations that generally relate humanity to supernatural, transcendental, and spiritual elements. Differing religions may or may not contain elements ranging from the divine, sacredness, faith, or a supernatural being or beings. Having fallen from the early estimate of 10,000 distinct religions worldwide, the general population has been converted indirectly to a state of non-religion (Atheism), and the remaining count has been assumed from anywhere between 1,000–500 concurrent religions that remain on the planet. As a result of the near-stagnation of the population by year 6000 and fragmentation of the various old-world nations into 571 concurrent countries that exist as of 6000 A.D.

Many of the remaining world religions are also organized, including the former abrahamic religion of Judaism. Folk religions, indigenous religions, and some Eastern religions remain on the planet as the global “religiosity” has been decreasing due to religious countries having generally lower birth rates than those irreligious. In the 3rd–5th millennia, the academic practice of comparative religion divided religious belief into philosophically defined categories called global religions. Some academics studying the subject of religion have divided religions into four broad categories:

  • Remaining world religions, a term which refers to old-world transcultural, international religions that have remained since olden times as many historians see fit;
  • Old-world movements, which refers to several movements world-wide that attempt to bring back extinct old-world religions that had spanned entire continents;
  • Indigenous religions, much of the remaining old-world cultures–like those in Olkanet believe in old-world religions that have evolved into increasingly more and more disconnected branches;
  • New religious movements, recently developed religions.

Some religious scholars classify religion as old-world ideals, rather than ones that would fit in with the “new world that nearly-one-trillion people live in.” and some countries have also down-right abolished practicing religions entirely, having relegated them to “harmful ideals” from the old-world. The topic of religion nowadays is incredibly negative, as much of the world sees the old-world ideals of religion as “harmful” and that it stunts progress. However, there are movements that are trying to convince those on the side of “harmful” otherwise, like the Neo–Christian movement or the Contemporary Buddhist Movement in Olkanet.

Languages in the Year 6000

Language is a structured system of communication that consists of grammar and vocabulary. It is the primary means of which humans convey meaning, both in spoken and signed forms, and may also be conveyed through writing. Human language is characterized by its cultural and historical diversity, with significant variations observed between cultures and across time. Estimates of the number of human languages of the old-world varied between 5,000 and 7,000, and in the Neo–Contemporary Era, the number varies between 9,000 and 10,000. Precise estimates depend on arbitrary distinction (dichotomy) established between languages and dialects. Natural languages are signed, or both; however, any language can be encoded into secondary media using auditory, visual, or tactile stimuli. In other words, human language is commonly modality-independent, but written or signed language is the way to inscribe or encode the natural human speech or gestures.

Language is also thought to have gradually diverged from earlier primate communication systems when early hominins acquired the ability to form a theory of mind and shared intentionality. This development is sometimes thought to have coincided with an increase in brain volume, and many linguists see the structures of language as having evolved to serve specific communicative and social functions. Language is processed in many different locations in the human brain, but especially in Broca's and Wernicke's areas. Humans acquire language through social interaction in early childhood, and children generally speak fluently by approximately three years old. Language and culture are codependent.

Some of the more popularly spoken languages have roots to old-world English, especially that from an old-world identity that was formally called the United States. The more popular spoken languages world-wide during the Contemporary Era evolved into many spoken languages in the modern day, and as an example; the old-world language of Russian evolved into the modern day equivalent of Ruysn, which has various similar roots.
