The minister of the American Council from Superior is the official diplomatic and political representative of the Kingdom of Superior to the American Council, the upper chamber within the legislative body of the Conference of American States. Like all other ministers, they are appointed by the heads of state or government by the individual member states with the council member from Superior being appointed directly by the president. The president nominates a council member who is then vetted by the High Council with the latter having the power to formally nominate and confirm the nominee to the position in order to represent Superior in the American Council within the CAS.
The position was created in 1980 after the American Council was created along with the American Parliament as a means of ensuring proper representation and communication between the CAS and its member states and as part of the new transnational legislature that was created. Superior would be part of the council as a founding member and has been appointing members to the position since. Council members serve unregulated terms meaning they can hold office for as long as possible with no fixed term length or limit.
Joseph Falkner is the current minsiter of the American Council for Superior since February 24, 2022, and was nominated by president Isaac Dillon.
Overivew
Ministers of the American Council serve as official representatives from their respective member states from across the CAS with Superior being no exception. As a council member, they are responsible for voting on legislation and partake in the legislative process along with the lower house American Parliament. They can propose legislation of their own as well and must represent their member state in the council. As a representative of Superior, the council member's job is to ensure that Superior's interests are laid out, understood, and properly represented and are also voting in accordance with the current government and policies within the North American kingdom.
