Maria Anne Hudghes (née Pritchett; 17 September 1942 - 22 January 2022) was a Patagonian politician who served as the 16th Prime Minister of Patagonia from 1987 to 1992 and Leader of the Labour Democratic Party from 1978 to 1992. Hudghes was the Member of National Assembly (MNA) for the borough of Saint Raphael in Aysén from TBD to TBD. She was the second woman to hold that office after Julia Rodríguez and the first woman elected from the Labour Democratic Party. Before elected as a prime minister, she served as the Secretary of Education, Culture, and Sciences under the premiership of Anthony Roberts in TBD and she became the Secretary of Labor and Social Services under the same premiership in TBD.

Hudghes was born and raised in Sandport, Aysén. She earned bachelor's degree in sociology from the Magallanes State University and she earned a law degree from the Saint Lawrence University, School of Law. She began her career as a civil rights attorney and a children's rights activist. She also became a sociology professor in Saint Lawrence University prior entering political office. She won as a Mayor of Saint Raphael by a supermajority votes against Peter Brown; she became the first woman mayor of the said town. After her three terms as a mayor, she won as a Premier of Aysén againt John Alfonso and William Ellis; she became the first woman governor of the said state.

During her premiership, she implemented the National Healthcare Act to provide a free health services and medical check-ups for the lower and middle class people. She built the Patagonian Orthophedic Center, Patagonian Lung Center, Patagonian Heart Center, and many health centers as a part of Strong Patagonia program and she modernized the medical facilities of Patagonian General Hospital. She also implemented the Education for Future Act to provide free higher education especially in research universities and she established many technical schools and preschools that are managed by the government. In addition to these new institutions, she modernized and renovated the older school buildings to provide better accommodation to the students. She began the Free Foreign Education Programme to help foreign students from other countries to provide free education in the country with free visa. She strengthened labor unions and worker's protection by implementing the Labour Protection Act and she increased the income taxes of those wealthiest people in the country.
