Meghesh, the Sorcery Lord, also known as the Ever Able, is a Vansilid from beyond the Auring plane. Meghesh is considered by their acolytes to be the incarnate manifestation of thyl, the substance from which magic is made possible. Whether Meghesh is the originator of thyl throughout planespace, merely a product of countless millennia's worth of concordation of thyl into a single being, or even simply an immensely powerful and unique thylkind remains a mystery known perhaps only to Pyggonoth.
Meghesh is typically described by human observers to prefer the form of an enormous, beautiful, and terrifying feathered, two-headed dragon with luminescent azure, violet, gold, and green scales from whose wings and tail sprouts an iridescent, rainbow fire that trails in the sky behind them as they fly. When Meghesh speaks, both heads of the dragon speak the same words in a thundering voice that completely overpowers all other noise. This dragon form of Meghesh has been reported across many centuries of observations, and even among both knids and vyinks. In this way, Meghesh can be said to be among the Vansilids that have a favoured, primary form such as Epallam relative to the more ephemeral of their kind such as Onar-Valgg. The second form favoured by Meghesh, known only to their most loyal acolytes, is that of a tall and semi-transparent blue human male with glowing white eyes, flowing iridescent hooded robes, and a proportionally large knotted wooden staff that blazes with a ghostly fire at the top.
As with many other Vansilids, Meghesh is not of the Auring plane and scarcely can be found physically located on Harth. Meghesh is described as the archetypal sorcerer: prone to outbursts of extreme emotion interceded with periods of profound stillness. Whereas human sorcerers often describe their own powers as being tied to their emotional state, and whereas these varying emotional states have respectively different results when using their native magic, Meghesh is empowered by the raw emotional convergence of mortal sorcerers and can exhibit something akin to wild "mood swings" in order to channel the emotionally sensitive magic that they find suitable to their needs. As Meghesh is empowered by the existence of mortal sorcerers, they are among the Vansilids considered more sympathetic to mortal life in planespace, differentiated from those such as Epallam, who seek to gain ultimate power through the destruction of all that exists.
Description
As with other Vansilids, Meghesh is in actuality a boundless entity of immeasurable size and unknowable appearance. Yet more uniquely, Meghesh is known to prefer a more singular appearance when they choose to manifest in a physical form.
This most favoured appearance is that of an enormous, two-headed dragon that stands roughly 50 feet in height. The dragon is mostly covered in iridescent cerulean scales that reflect a shimmering rainbow of light. Along its body and around its creases are scales of violet, gold, and green, composing intricate patterns. The dragon's two pairs of eyes glow with a brilliant blue light, and from its mouths stream trickles of blue flame. As Meghesh soars through the air in their dragon form, a fiery trail of ever-shifting colour follows. It is said that the dragon form of Meghesh is as beautiful as it is terrifying, much like the power of a sorcerer; capable of both marvellous feats and unimaginable horrors.
In addition to their dragon form, Meghesh has been known to appear to their most favoured acolytes in the form of a tall, transparent blue man in shimmering, iridescent robes. Meghesh takes on an impeccable visage in this form, bearing a stern face punctuated with two brightly glowing white eyes. Long flowing hair of the same brilliant white streams down from underneath their hood. In this form, Meghesh bears a staff of knotted brown wood that shimmers with an ethereal blue glow. From the top of the staff, a pale white fire blazes endlessly.
Powers
In their material forms, Meghesh is among the most mighty of all the Vansilids, with an equal only perhaps in Perash-Phulagg the Threshold Keeper. Meghesh is thought to be the most powerful user of magic in all of planespace, as they are either composed of pure thyl or imbued with more thyl than any other known sorcerous being. Most impressively, Meghesh uses only the system of meditation, or, mental magic, in order to channel their innate power, a feat replicable by only human wizards or sorcerers of the most legendary ability. Meghesh favours no single magical school and seems to possess mastery over all of them. Meghesh is believed to know every way in which thyl can be manipulated, and as such, they are considered a manifestation of the sum of all magical knowledge and potential in existence.
