NAB News is a Superian multinational cable news television network based in Saint Anthony, Minnesota. The channel is owned by National Associative Broadcasting Company, which is one of the largest media networks in Superior. Channel broadcasts are commonly televised, recorded, and live streamed from its studios in Saint Anthony, having affiliate studios in New Hamburg.

NAB News was founded in 1978 by Frederick Mentz and Johanna Lieberman, being founded as one of the first 24-hour cable news networks in Superior. It would be a successor to the National Radio Broadcasting Company, which ran from 1918 to 1978. NAB News would quickly become one of the major television-based news channels in Superior. As of 2021, NAB News is the second-largest news networks in Superior, with around 28,035,000 households (85% of the Superian population) subscribed to NAB News, either directly or indirectly through their cable provider. It is the third most subscribed cable news channel in Superior, behind its rival Penguin News and the state-funded SBC News, but ahead of FZ.24 and SCT News.

A majority of the shows aired on NAB News have been generally described as left-leaning by observers, being largely favorable to the Liberal Democratic Party and Farmer Labor Party, which has generated accusations of bias reporting. Since its founding, the NAB News has been accused of left wing bias, being accused of generating misinformation on issues such as gun control and race relations, along with reporting generally favoring left-leaning candidates or solutions to major political issues. Like its rival, Penguin News, NAB News has denied any form of bias reporting, claiming that critics are merging its prominent commentary shows with its actual news reporting.

History

The idea for an NAB News channel came from Frederick Mentz, news director of National Associative Broadcasting. Having been with the news department of flagship WNAB-TV before being joining the network administration, Mentz began looking for something to strengthen the news division. Inspired by rumors of would eventually turn out to be the Sierran National News Network, he began to draw up plans for a cable news network that would serve as an outlet for the NAB News department, eventually pitching the idea to NAB Chair Johanna Lieberman, who promptly greenlit the channel and began setting it up.
