New Manhattan Project Incident
Not to be confused with the New Manhattan Project Siege
The New Manhattan Project Incident is an incident which occurred on April 28, 2011 when WikiLeaks leaked a classified OSS reports that the BSS of the Midwayan Soviet Federative Socialist Republic had stolen fragments of the blueprints of the New Manhattan Project Bomb. WikiLeaks released the report at around 12:30 PM. The MSFSR is thought to have stolen the blueprints for use for their own nuclear weapons program.While the government of the Union of Midway immediately confirmed the reports were valid, the government of the MSFSR has made no comment on the incident.
Background
The New Manhattan Project Bomb was developed by JBRican scientists during the JBRican Civil War under the direction of Theresa Vales. The original blueprints were burned by the Vales Administration after the New Manhattan Project Siege, however fragments survived. These fragments were kept by the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States of JBR. These fragments contained some of the New Manhattan Project Bombs basic structures and designs. On April 28, 2011, the Midwayan Soviet Federative Socialist Republic's Bureau of State Security stole these blueprints. The OSS received reports of this through an anonymous source. A person within the OSS leaked these reports to WikiLeaks, which released the reports to the public.
Reaction
The government of the Union of Midway began investing in Missile defense systems fearing that the MSFSR may attempt to develop a ICBM rather than a nuclear bomb. The Midwayan Soviet Federative Socialist Republic has made no comment on the issue, and has refused to answer any questions about the event that they are asked.
