Pei Zhenming (Chinese: 裴真名, born 19 March 1965) is a Republic of China Air Force general. He served as the first commander of the joint forces in the Special Operation Zone in Manchuria, from April to June 2023, commanding the first stage of the Chinese invasion of Manchuria, and since then has been the commander of the air forces in the special operation zone.

As an air defense specialist, he commanded two air defense brigades before achieving senior command, being appointed as the head of the Beijing Region Air Force. In this role he commanded the air support for the annexation of Rehe Province by the Republic of China in 2014, including air defenses for the ground troops advancing into Rehe. In 2018 Pei was made the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Command, and in 2020 he became the Deputy Commander of the Air Force. In these roles he worked to improve the coordination between the ROCAF and the Republic of China Army for operations. For this reason, in early 2023 he as appointed as the first commander of Chinese forces in the invasion of Manchuria.

Early life

He was born in 1965 in Anshan, Liaoning, and attended the People's Liberation Army Air Force Academy, graduating in 1987 and being commissioned as a second lieutenant of the PLAAF. In 1989 he completed the Air Defense Artillery School.

Military career

As a junior officer, Pei Zhenming served in air defense battalions equipped with the Sierran Patriot, Skyguard, and TK-3 missile systems, part of the 799th Air Defense Brigade of the Republic of China Air Force Air Defense Command, part of the Lanzhou Region Air Force. His first senior command was the 792nd Air Defense Brigade from 2006 to 2008 as a colonel, followed by the 797th Air Defense Brigade. Pei then attended the Republic of China Air Command and Staff College, which he completed in 2011, and the Republic of China War College, in 2013. After briefly serving as Commander of Air Defense Command from 2013 to 2014, Pei was appointed to head the Beijing Region Air Force, one of the most important positions in the ROCAF.

Manchurian War

In June 2023, he was placed under personal sanctions by the American Parliament along with several hundred other Chinese officials in connection with the Chinese invasion of Manchuria.
